Guest guest
When I am undermedicated I get IBS symptoms. When I am medicated properly I am fine. Lilian
Guest guest
Hi , I nearly reduced to tears here - feeling someone is listening to me - at last. Not sure of my last test results - all I hear is, " in the normal range, see you in six months " from the endocrinologists. Thanks, Dave > > > > > Hi Dave, >  > I'm so sorry that you've been through so much and now feel like you're back full circle...... no wonder you're feeling low. I suffered from IBS for years so I empathise. It just doesn't seem fair to have more than one rotten thing at a time does it....  Re your hypo t, where are you at test-wise.... what's your 'T levels' etc. Low T3, as I'm sure you know, can make you feel very depressed..... I know it did me, and many others. Often doctors just treat the symptoms instead of seeing the bigger picture..... anti-depressants have their place but sometimes with hypo t I feel they can cloud the picture a bit. > Just about everyone on this forum has tried just about everything so I'm sure you will find advice and support. Sorry that I've got nothing more helpful to say at this time, but I just wanted you to know that you are amongst supportive friends who understand. >  > julia >
Guest guest
Dave - your GP will have the results on your records (or he should have). Ring reception and tell them you would like your last thyroid function test results and reference ranges for each test because you are keeping a 'diary of events' to see if there is any pattern. These are yours by law. no doctor can refuse you these. Tell the receptionist you will pop into the surgery on such and such a day and would she/he please have them ready at reception. You don't need to see a doctor for this. Look in the FILES and you will see one that tells you about your rights within the NHS (Can't remember off hand exactly what it is called) but you will see there that you are allowed these. Would you be willing (and able) to see a private doctor such as Dr Skinner or Dr Peatfield. Where about in the UK do you live, let me know and I will see if there is a 'good' doctor in your particular area. Many endocrinologists are diabetic specialists and know little about the workings of the thyroid - thyroid specialists are few and far between in the UK. BTW Dave - can you please delete most of the message you are responding to and leave only a small portion. luv - Sheila Not sure of my last test results - all I hear is, " in the normal range, see you in six months " from the endocrinologists. Guest guest
Hi Dave, We tend to call them endoprats, but there are some good ones out there who will listen to the symptoms and not just treat to the tests-there can be a huge difference in how you feel from one end of the range to the to the other. Most endos are diabetes specialists, so you need one who is a thyroid expert- Sheila does have a list of those who are more sympathetic them some. You are entitled to you test results so just ask your doc for them. Normal is not good enough when you feel far from normal, and it's worse when you don't feel well either. Guest guest
, Don't beat yourself up about this. It happens. What matters is that you get right back into your diet. I've been dealing with this since right before Thanksgiving. I was traveling a lot and restaurant food was making me sick so I said, hey I'm already sick, why not just eat whatever I want! I finally said enough last week and I'm back to the diet. It's really hard to be good, I know. Sometimes I wonder why I bother. Everyone else around me is sick with something so why not just be fat and happy. But not many people are happy. Being on this diet will get you to a happy, healthy place. > > Hi Everyone, > I'm having a really bad last couple days. I haven't cheated in awhile and decided to cheat with some drinks and dinner New Year's Eve. Unfortunately it didn't stop there. I basically have been binging on carbs, liquor and everything we're not supposed to have since then and haven't taken any of my supplements. I don't know why I do this to myself. Things have been so good for me lately and I really am seeing improvements. But after a cheat like this I don't remember the last time I felt this sick and depressed. I'm trying so hard to move past this but it's so hard when I feel this way. Guess I'm just looking for some support and encouragement to get over this. I just am so hard on myself after a cheat like this because I feel like all my hard work I'm doing is never going to pay off when I do stuff to set me back like this. Maybe I just need to stop cheating completely. I don't do it often but when I do it's so hard to get over. > Thanks everyone for listening. > >
Guest guest
, I know exactly how you feel I've been doing alot cheating/binging since the holiday's began starting with thanksgiving. Once i have a cheat its like I can't stop & then binge =( Then i feel so depressed & sick too. I also had to start all over fresh on the diet today but i still have been taking my supplements with the cheats not sure if that helps my body much considering all the other bad stuff i was also putting in there. I'm praying this new year will be a good healthy healing year for myself & others on this forum. The best thing we can do after a cheat is get back up & start back on the right track again until we get it right. Best wishes for a new healthy 2010!
