Guest guest
HI all: I'm new here and just joined. I just want to share that I have been on Celexa since about August 1, 2001. I totally has changed my life!!! I had gone up to 40 mg. but I put on some weight and seemed a little lethargic, and I used to break out in a sweat like 10 minutes after taking it, so my shrink put me on Lexapro. First I was on 10 mg, which seemed to do virtually nothing. Then up to 15mg, which was a little better. Now I am on 20 mg. And I feel just about as great as I ever did on Celexa. And fewer side effects. My energy level is improved, meaning I can work out harder, and I just feel a little "cleaner" on it. Anyway, just wanted to share this. I realize that 20 of Lex is a fairly high dosage when compared using the 10mg. Lex = 40 mg. Celexa criteria, but this is the dosage that works for me. I seriously doubt that I would need more than 60 of celexa, which is a real high dose, but i was sweating big time on 40. Basically, I am pleased. Thanks for listening. Guest guest
Welcome Dave! I went to my Dr. yesterday and he upped me from 5 mg to 10 mg of Lexapro, told me to stop taking the generic Buspar, and wrote me a prescription for 20 mg of Lexapro to be taken after I adjust to the 10 mg. My husband has a cold and coughed all night, and had a long day at work, so I can't tell you how the first day with the upped dosage of Lexapro and Buspar withdrawal has been. BTW, when I was taking Celexa I was taking 20 mg. Maybe the Docs are changing their minds about the correct dosage of Lexapro we need to take, and maybe they think we need to take more... just a thought. Keep posting, Dave! Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to . Hope you enjoy your time here and that you will gain lots of useful information as well as make new friends along the way. We're not allowed to discuss brand issues per se on this list as it tends to start brand wars now and then.. something we try to keep this forum clear of, so all I can tell you about is what I have and my experience with it. I am from a large family of hearing impaired/deaf people due to genetic sensorineural hearing loss(nerve deafness) Right now there are 4 implant users and we all wear have Nucleus implants. my familys journeys have been just amazing starting with my mother who was implanted 12 years ago after being totally deaf for 25+ years. Within 15 minutes of being activated, she was in a hearing conversation for the first time in well over 2 decades.. hearing with understanding! Next in line are my younger sister and myself who were implanted Oct. 31, 2001 with the Nucleus 24 contour and presently wearing the 3G processor as the Freedom processors aren't yet available for us. We too were able to hear immediately on activation and could use the phone as well!! I couldn't believe this as that isn't the norm and it took my mom months of practice to use the phone.. she's still not big on phone use today, but that's just her style. Sis and I both use regular phones, cordless phones and cell phones with ease. Last, but not least is my oldest sister who was implanted 6 months after the two of us. While it took her a few months to really understand speech, she did hear some words from day one of activation, but not remembering what many words were, we literally had to tell her what certain sounds were until she could recognize them.. she was quite young when she lost her hearing.. Now.. she also talks on the phone on a daily basis..Simply amazing is all I can say. If you'd like to talk further, please feel free to email me privately as well as here on the forum. Wishing you the best. Warm regards, Silly MI In , Larsen <kipper3d@y...> wrote: > Hello! > > I just signed up on this list the other day. Guest guest
, Welcome to the board! You are doing just the right thing in getting as much information as you can! I did the same thing and talked to TONS of people with Advanced Bionics, Cochlear Americas (Nucleus) and Med-El. I found that most boards do not like to talk about brands specifically as every implant person is naturally biased! I discovered the best way to circumvent that was to go to the companies themselves and get on their message boards, and ask to be contacted by CI recipients. Sounds like you have already done that with the Nucleus, so I suggest going to Advanced Bionics and doing the same! Word-of-mouth testimonials are the best way to find out information. I have GOOD friends that I talk with daily who have different implants with different companies. Most are doing very well, and ALL experience steady improvement with each mapping. And to be fair - Med- El has a website as well! Grin! Sincerely, P Frederick, MD Fred. Guest guest
Dear G, RPh = about 5 - 6 years at University Tech course work will not be credited towards pharmacist university credits. Higher paying Lab tech will require biology and chemistry coursework and sometimes on the job training only for lower payig lab tech in a pharmaceutical company. Check with www.salary.com for pay scales. Pharmaceutical Sales will require a BS or MBA in Business OR BS in Biology or Chemistry PLUS sales experience and TRAINinG on on the job with continuous product training. Check with www.salary.com for pay scales. Hope this helps. You may find a company here and there that does not require as much education especially if you have VERY STRONG Biology and Chemistry background in 2 yr college or high school. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I have sectoral heterochromia as well. One eye is all green, and the other is mostly green with a section that is gold. I'm also going deaf in my left ear. My mom is partially deaf and so is my older brother. Hair color is normal. Guest guest
Hi , It sounds as if your family may have Waardenburg syndrome: it's a combination of heterochromia, sensorineural hearing loss, white forelock and prematurely white hair; not every family has all those symptoms, and it's rare for any one person to have all of them. In my family, my mother got the hair, my cousin got the deafness and I got the eyes. Nobody else in three generations has been affected at all. There's a description of WS here: http://www.emedicine.com/ped/TOPIC2422.HTM. Well ever since I saw it on a talk show. Lots of people are saying order the 2 books and I intend too. BUT first I just have a few specific questions. I hope someone can answer them for me. Guest guest
Hi all! I saw a homeopathic doctor last Wednesday and he has put me on the candida diet for 2 weeks. Then he said I can start adding things like sweet potato once every 2 days. From what I have researched, most people are on the diet for 4 weeks. I will see how I feel after the 2 weeks and may just continue it, what have I got to lose? I am on this diet not to lose weight but I have a lot of the issues that candida causes and this is what he wanted to start me off with. He used the BioEnergetics EDS machine and it was so awesome to observe, I was so amazed at what this machine could do and find. I will see him again in a month. My sweet cravings and mood swings are awful to say the least! I had bread on the second day of the diet because we had gone out to dinner and then I had about 4 pieces of hard candy--I know, Big NO NO! I promise not to do it again! He has me on coral calcium, lithium orotate, buffered vitamin c, l-glutamine, fish oil, homeopathic drops for hormone balance and lymph drainage, digestzyne, yeast/fungal detox, and he said it was ok for me to take co-q10 and 5-htp. I lost 3 pounds but gained them right back (this is good as I am underweight) Just thought I would say " hello " and thank you for this group--it is perfect for anyone needing info and ideas! Wonderful group! Blessings,
Guest guest
Welcome to the group. You did just perfect! We all post the good, bad and ugly (LOL) of weight loss. I'm , 44 single mom of 3 boys (1 at college, 1 headed to college in the fall and 1 lives with dad) Look forward to following your journey. Im new Hi all. I am new to this group, and wasnt sure what to do. I wanted to say hello and introduce myself, but I couldnt find a specific thread for that. Please let me know if there is a special place for such a post. I am over 300 lbs and looking for some support and some motivation, and frankly just people to talk to who understand some of the struggles associated with being over weight. Hope to "meet" some of you soon.. Thanks. Holea
Guest guest
Thanks. Everyday is a struggle, but at least I am still in the battle. I think I have tried every plan on the planet, but fail everytime. So far what I am doing seems to be working and I am not feeling deprived. My biggest issue is snacking at night. I just cant stop it. So I try to opt for healthy options, but sometimes I just get frustrated and end up at the store looking at the chips ... I always want huge results, and I want them right away. I am not a very patient person.. lol Anyway... I am just a smidge over 300lbs, however I started at 368 so, Im not doing too badly. Ive set my goal for 300 to achieve by May 1, so I have some work to do... but I have a few tools I am using to help me stay motivated and push me a little. So far they are working pretty well. I am not married, but happily committed, and no children. My biggest regret is not having them. I am 38 and fear it is too late with all this weight etc... but I guess miracles happen. My boyfriend and I have only been together 6 months, but he is the prince that came after kissing a few frogs, and I am not letting him outta my sight. lol I am a financial service rep, and I love my job. I work hard, play hard and am really getting my life together. I had a very very rough few years, but I am on the road to recovery, health and happiness... Looking for some support, friendship, laughs, and maybe some good friends. Thanks for the welcome. Holea > > Welcome to the group. You did just perfect! Guest guest
Wow, Holea, you're doing great! Snacking is my weakness, too; especially in the evenings. I've taken up knitting to keep myself busy while we're watching tv and it's helped a LOT. It may not be too late for children; I have several friends that starting having kids in their late 30's/early 40's. Hopefully it'll all work out for you Have a great weekend!
