Guest guest
> > hi, I have 2 girls ages 6 and 7. I have tried to start off with the vitamin C that you recomend from iherb, but even when I break up the pill she still gags and now won't go near it. I do not know what to do. I do not want to put it on pudding, b/c that has all the bad stuff in it. So what is the lesser evil, no supplements, a supplement from iherb that has some sugar, but at least they will take it? +++Hi Tara. The lesser of the evils is no supplement. Give your girls butter oil, which is loaded with wonderful nutrients. The link to Green Pastures is at the bottom of this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/butter1.php +++Also buy one of the fermented cod liver oils at that same site to give to them. Guest guest
I was told Samter's doesn't begin showing signs until your late 20s to early 30s. Not to be the bearer of bad news or anything... I was diagnosed at 29 (not very long ago). -Nick On Mon, Jul 25, 2011 at 6:57 PM, Celtic Dove <celtic_dove@...> wrote: I've had it for 35 years and my daughter who recently turned 26 doesn't have it or any signs of it as yet. Guest guest
I am a samter's child with a samter's father. My father's symptoms developed in his 20's, my asthma started in early 20's, rhinitis/polyps late 20's, aspirin sensitivity early 30's. My children are 5 & 8. Both had asthma for their first 3 years that seems to have gone to remission. My 8 year old has allergies and is stuffy most of the time, I think he may be the one to watch. My father has 3 other children. All of them have individual components of samters (Brother 1 - lung issues, sister - allergies & aspirin sensitivity, brother 2 - chronic sinus issues). To date I am the only one who has developed the triad. I believe we can inherit a genetic predisposition, but that there must be a 'turn on' event of some kind before it starts to develop. It seems many of us developed in stages. I believe my 'events' were a virus that hospitalized me with an asthma attack in my early 20's (no previous adult asthma) and hormones during my pregnancy with my son. Guest guest
Again, we are all different and I don't think anything can be predicted with any accuracy. I first started showing symptoms at age 59. Wasn't diagnosed with Samters until I was 62. Never had any asthma symptoms and never had any problems with aspirin. Even now, after several tests, I have no allergic reaction to anything. My asthma symptoms only show up if I take an aspirin. My polyp growth has been under control with medication for the past three years, after three surgeries. Both of my parents have passed and both lived to a ripe old age with no Samter's symptoms. I have an older brother without Samter's. Why me? The doctor can't say. It is what it is. Guest guest
My father came down with Samter's at age 41. I came down with it at age 39. Research shows that nasal polyps are a hereditary allergic reaction. In my opinion Samter's starts with the polyps and the toxic discharge from the polyps serves as the catalyst to cause the rest of triad. Re: children I am a samter's child with a samter's father. Guest guest
No one else in my family has had Samter’s. Mine was triggered after botched surgery to correct a deviated septum.
