Guest guest
Dear Larry, I am so sorry that you have had a bad day. I can completely relate to what you stated in your mail. I had a day where I just didn’t want to be me anymore on Tuesday…. I had to go and see my surgeon for the first time since my operation on 25th Feb 04. I haven’t been able to go to work for eight weeks and have found these past weeks so hard to cope with. My surgeon surprised completely and decided to tell me that the operation was not successful and that he has got to repeat the procedure and I have to tell you I am so so so disappointed as that is not what I want to hear at all. It was one of the most horrific and painful experiences I have ever had to go through. Not looking forward to having it done but have no other option at the moment. I am going to seek a second opinion. I have got an appointment with the local pain management clinic so they can stabilise my pain and as soon as they have done their job I will be put under his spell on the operating theatre. Hope you truly do have a better day tomorrow…. I am pleased I have found this group – I don’t post very often but do read and keep up with all events. I hope to post more now that I am feeling more positive again. My thoughts are with you Love Amy -----Original Message----- From: Larry Gullahorn [mailto:lagullahorn68-69@...] Sent: 22 April 2004 11:29 PAIN IN THE NECK AND BACK GROUP Subject: HELLO GROUP HELLO GROUP, I AM IN A LOT OF PAIN THIS MORNING. MY BACK HAS BEEN HURTING SO MUCH THESE PAST FEW DAYS THAT I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO DO ANYTHING.{EXCEPT TAKE PAIN PILLS TO TRY TO GET SOME TYPE OF RELIEF} I ALSO HAVE HAD A LOT OF PAIN IN MY NECK AND SHOULDERS. I CAN NOT IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO NOT HURT. I AM JUST SO TIRED OF HURTING ALL THE TIME.{BUT THEN AREN'T WE ALL} IT WOULD BE SO GOOD BE PAIN FREE FOR JUST ONE DAY. TO BE ABLE TO JUST WALK WITH OUT MY BACK HURTING SO BAD,AND TO HAVE MY NECK AND SHOULDERS TO NOT HURT LIKE IT DOES. I KNOW THAT IS WHAT WE ALL WANT . TO BE PAIN FREE AND TO BE ABLE TO LIVE LIFE AGAIN WITHOUT THE PAIN THAT IS OUR CONSTANT COMPANION. IT WOULD BE SO GOOD TO BE ABLE TO GO BACK TO WORK AGAIN. I AM SO TIRED OF NOT BEING ABLE TO WORK. IT'S REALLY HUMILIATING FOR ME TO SEE MY WIFE GET UP EVERY MORNING AND GO TO WORK WHILE I JUST STAY AT HOME AND DO NOTHING. BETWEEN THE PAIN IN MY BACK AND THE CONSTANT HEADACHES AND SHOULDER PAIN I SOMETIMES THINK THAT I AM ABOUT TO LOSE MY MIND. I AM SO GLAD THAT THIS GROUP IS HERE. Guest guest
HELLO BARB, I JUST SENT YOU A WELCOME LETTER.I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DSD. AS FAR AS DISABILITY GOES DID YOU FILE FOR SOCIAL SECURITY OR A STATE DISABILITY ? I FILED WITH SOCIAL SECURITY AND ALSO HAVE BEEN DENIED DISABILITY. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF APPEALING MY DENIAL. HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO GET A DOCTOR TO STATE THAT YOU ARE DISABLED AND UNABLE TO WORK? WILL THE NEW DOCTOR THAT YOU JUST SAW DO THAT FOR YOU ? I KNOW THAT IT IS ROUTINE FOR PEOPLE TO BE DENIED WHEN THEY FIRST FILE FOR SOCIAL SECURITY. HAVE YOU TALKED TO AN ATTORNEY TO HELP YOU GET DISABILITY? I KNOW THAT IT IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING TO BE IN PAIN AND NOT HAVE DOCTORS TO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH YOU.{ AND NOT BE WILLING TO DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG} I HOPE THAT I HAVE HELPED YOU A LITTLE BIT ANY WAY. I WISH THAT I COULD HAVE GIVEN YOU MORE HELP AND INFORMATION THAN I HAVE. MAY YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY AND BE AS PAIN FREE AS POSSIBLE TAKE AS BEST CARE AS YOU CAN.LARRY Barb <strong49079@...> wrote: Hello everyone. I guess constant pain doesn't qualify anymore. Of course their doctors didn't find anything wrong, but they wouldn't take any x-rays. Also, I have a possible bone spur in my neck. Has anyone had this problem or know what could be done? Guest guest
Hi, Larry (and everyone else). I haven't been around, again, because there has been a change in my condition and there is a possibility that part of the pain in my right arm may be due to bone cancer. Hey, why not? I already have Lupus, spinal arthritis and almost no cartilage in either knee.. let's play with the girl.. I was to have some tests yesterday but, Sunday, I came down with a cold and they don't want my germs around. So, next week. Thanksgiving was okay. It's just the three of us left in town (funny how a 5 generation family in this city can suddenly come down to this!) and my friends all have probably gotten sick of my not being "fun" anymore. We had a nice meal and we spent the weekend doing our holiday baking (I mostly directed..) Larry Gullahorn wrote: HELLO TO EVERYONE IN THE GROUP I JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO TO EVERYONE. Guest guest
Hello! We had a nice quiet Thanksgiving, which was good because my back decided it was going to hurt all day that day. Woke up in the morning and could hardly turn my head at all. Still fighting it today, but it is a bit better than it was last week. I think the recent very cold weather isn't helping, either! Take care, Larry Gullahorn wrote: HELLO TO EVERYONE IN THE GROUP I JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO TO EVERYONE. I HOPE THAT EVERYONE HAD A GOOD THANKSGIVING . IT WAS A GOOD ONE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.
