She is a gourmet cook and it was difficult to pass up some of her tasty dishes. Guest guest
Mz Violet, just today I read your post about using imagination in presenting food attractively. I was wondering how you were doing, and wistfully wishing you would return to the group. It's great to hear you are doing well. I hope this means we will be hearing from you again soon! Guest guest
Hi Mz Violet! Funny that neither you nor I have been here for a LONG time, and we peeked in a couple of days apart. Good to see you! Sorry to hear about your husband. I'm still amazed when I receive emails from a church I used to attend, and see the prayer requests. SO MANY CANCERS! That is not normal... but is becoming more and more inevitable with the crap people are choosing to put into their bodies. On a related note, I posted a class picture from my 4th grade class in 1977 recently on Facebook. Out of 30 kids, only ONE was overweight. Today, if a current 4th grade class picture is taken, I imagine 20 of the 30 kids are borderline obese! Eventually, perhaps people will be able to figure out the problem... but people can also be pretty stupid and stubborn, so who knows? And Mz. Violet... I have become quite the gourmet cook myself! You can't IMAGINE how wonderful and tasty the things are I prepare at our house! I've started using the crock pot a lot more often now. And my grassfed farmer has added many different animals on his farm, like Elk and other stuff. And my Jack puppy is still thriving on raw meat... the grassfed butcher gives me $20/pound filet mignon scraps for her several times per week, and she's quite spoiled. At least we know that your husband died living the way he wanted to live, although he could have lived longer if he had the strength to say " no " to bad foods, and " yes " to good foods. Men can be stubborn. But you shared a special and long life together and raised a wonderful family. It's hard in the beginning to realize you are wrong and to totally transform your diet, so I can understand that he couldn't make that choice. Nice to cross paths again! I'll definitely be looking for some new recipes from you! Doug > > After a long period of grieving from my husbands death early last year, I am returning to socializing again.
