I know canned tomatoes are not recommended on the Candida diet. But is it okay

if the diced tomatoes are stored in a box? (the only ingredient is tomatoes)

I miss eating tomatoes! The fresh tomatoes in my store haven't been that good

lately.

The diced tomatoes in a box are sold in the canned foods aisle at the store. The

tomatoes are not dried, but I don't think they're fresh. They are cut up like

the tomatoes you would get in a can.

What do you think?

+++Hi . I'm very suspicious of that product; how are they processed, and

what are the ingredients?

Hi Bee and ,

I'm wondering if by 'box' means a Tetra-Pak. If that is the case, they

would processed in the same that canned tomatoes would. But instead of being

put into a can, they are put into a Tetra-Pak (like a juice box).

I haven't heard of Tetra-Pak, , it's probably a brand name. My guess is

that is talking about tomatoes sold in asceptic packaging (also like a

juice box).

Here's what good old Wikipedia has to say:

Hi Jackie,

You are right. Tetra-Pak is a brand of aseptic packing, invented right here in

jolly ol' Sweden!

I just need to buy a big enough pot so I can make cooked tomatoes and tomato

paste myself! I love cooked tomatoes! I like to make my own " spaghetti " (aka

spaghetti squash) and meatballs!

Thanks for all of your help!

the packaging itself isn't toxic you will be okay. I just don't know if the

packaging could be toxic - I haven't checked them out, have you?
