Guest guest
Mothers with children on Bee's diet, 10 months ago I could not fathom how my 4 year old son would get off the school diet and onto this diet for both logistical and psychological reasons. However, so graciously helped me through this, and now it is a lifestyle that I don't think twice about. After getting his school to understand the complete regimine, my son's school is suddenly closing and we are forced to relocate him MID-school year?! I wrote up this letter for the teachers, and thought maybe it could serve as a template to benefit the group struggling with this as I once had. Obviously the letter would need modifying per the individual, but here is what I am sending with him tomorrow: Date Dear (Teacher) and (Staff) Currently (Name) is undergoing a strict diet avoiding foods he is sensitive to, which has proved repeatedly to benefit him physically, emotionally and academically. We would appreciate him having only the foods we provide, or those that match the outline below: ALLOWED FOODS: --ALL Meat/Chicken/Fish (etc.) --ALL Vegetables, EXCEPT Carrots, Corn, Peas and Beans (Name) may NOT have any of the following: --NO DAIRY (MILK, YOGURT, CHEESE, ETC.) --NO GLUTEN (BREAD, PASTA, CRACKERS, CEREAL, ETC.) --NO FRUIT or FRUIT JUICE --NO SUGAR (CAKE, CANDY, ETC.) Adhering to this diet we have been able to eliminate many issues, but since there is a 3-4 DAY DELAY in reactions, we continue to monitor (Name's) progress and food sensitivities on a daily basis. If for any reason you see abnormal behavior per the list below, we welcome your feedback so we know how to make any further adjustments. --Complaints of leg pains or pains in joints --Complaints of forehead pain, sinus pain or green nasal discharge --Excessive or abnormal fatigue --Aggression or abnormal frustrations of any kind Thank you in advance for your understanding and help with this. Hope that helps someone. smile Amy
Guest guest
Amy, This is great! For mine, I would add NO GRAINS. Some people I've encountered want to refer to my diet as gluten free but it's actually grain free. I always have to explain this. You may also want to put NO NUTS unless it's already a nut-free school, because I would say most products they will provide that have nuts aren't soaked and dehydrated. And from my own personal history, I would add NO VEGETABLE OILS because I doubt they would use quality oils in their food. Thanks for providing this!
