Guest guest
> > Hello Everyone-I was looking for any advice for my one and a half year old. He has a cold with a very phlemy cough and a stuffy nose. He has been sick for two days now. I have been giving him an astragalus and echinacea tincture, steamy eucalyptus baths, plenty of fluids(breastfeeding too), chamomile tea, bone broth soups(which he barely eats), lots of rest and love. I was wondering if applying hydrogen peroxide in the ear would be safe for him. Any other ideas? Poor baby is miserable... Thanks tons in advance. +++Hi Brittany. You are doing a lot to help your dear son - good for you! Remember that his body is simply detoxifying, so that's a good thing. Don't overdo the astragalus, echinacea, and I think it is better to give him Epsom salt baths instead of using eucalyptus. You can slow down his healing by doing too much or by overwhelming his body with strong herbs. I think vitamin C is much better than hydrogen peroxide, and children may become overly upset and alarmed by the bubbling noises that H202 causes in the ears. Make vitamin like this: Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C) - Mix equal amounts of ascorbic acid crystals and baking soda. Add 1 heaping teaspoon of this mixture to 1/2 cup of warm sterile water, which will help dissolve the crystals. Put about 6-8 drops in his ears a few times a day. Also give him lots of vitamin C.
