> I have lost the post on the person who needed to gain weight. Yes

it does happen, I went from 150 lbs to 117 lbs and at 5'7 " that is on

the light side. I eat three home prepared meals a day. I have been

told by my gastroenterologist that people only think that they are

eating a lot. That was hard to swallow(excuse the pun) for someone

who had tried to lose weight for years and couldn't. To help me stop

my weight loss she gave me folic acid and B12 shots. I now take a B-

complex with folic acid and extra vitamin B6. My thyroid tests in

the normal range, but is close to the upper level on the T3 count.

It is quite possible that my thyroid functioned at such a low rate

all of my life ( who knows since it was never tested), that this

reading would be quite high for me.

weight as well. I cannot tolerate the whole oat, but have been

successful in using an oat milk. Good Luck and God Bless, Sandy

Hi Sandy!

I hope I can help you in this matter. I can easily gain 10lbs in a

week!

1. Check your caloric intake.

Your ideal body weight is 135lbs (you calculate starting with 100lbs,

add to that 5lbs for every inch over 5 feet: 100+7x5=135 so at 117

you need some extra pounds! You can add to that 10%of the ideal body

weight 13.5 = 135+13.5=148.5 anything over that is over weight. This

is for women, for men you start with 106lbs.

Forgive me if I misscalculate anything. I am baby sitting a one year

old who is all over the place and I am not good in math...

Next you calculate your caloric intake:

Multiply your body weight by 11 (for men by 12) 117x11=1287 and to

that you add your physical activity which could be anywheere from 240

calories an hour for walking to 920 calories an hour for running at

7mph. Lets say that you spend 720 calories a day if you are not very

active:1287+720=2007. Now, record everything you eat/drink during a

week, day by day to get the average of a daily intake by dividing it

by 7. If you are eating less than 2007 calories you will be lossing

weight, so you need to increase the caloric intake.

2. Check your pH balance. If you are too acidic eat more alkaline

foods and viceversa. You can check pH through a saliva test done in

special papers you might find at the drugstore. If you are

interested on that please ask me to give you an address to get the

papers (I think it costs 12dollars for a roll that lasts for a very

long time}.

3. To the breakfst you have in the morning try to add the protein

shake plus 1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil.

4. Stress can make you go to extremes, either gaining or losing

weight. Try to learn to meditate if you are not yet doing so. When

you eat, thank the Creator of all things for the nourishment you are

getting and that is going to be for the improvement of your well

being. Sit down and enjoy your meals in a peaceful surrounding, no

nwespapers, books or any reading or TV, just wonderful thoughts and

conversation...Have a nice day!

Good morning:

Any experience with patients loosing to much weight after gastric bypass? I

have a few patients who are about a year out and need to stop loosing. They are

compliant with post-op appointments. I have given them pre-planned snack ideas

and a list of healthy fats.

Any recommendations?

Thank you

How much weight have they lost? I would be careful about encouraging snacking

too soon b/c they will probably regain some in 6 months. We've had a few pts

whose PCP rec. snacking to halt weight loss now they can't stop and have

regained a significant amount of weight.

Hi I just joined after poking around on your website.

My list of aliments is pretty long. But the latest was being diagnosed with type

one diabetes...yipes! I'm a not a juvenile! But am underweight. I'm 5'2 " and my

weight goes up and down(90's-80's). I inject insulin and eat the carbs

recommended by my doc. But sometimes the IBS is not happy. Sometimes the insulin

does no good and my blood sugar goes really high anyway. sigh...I'm getting

tired of fighting candida and yes, I do believe that this blood sugar problem is

caused by candida rather than diabetes. Can you help me kill off candida, gain

weight and keep my blood sugar under control?

a

PS I'm not asking you to cure the diabetes.

+++Hi a. Welcome to our group. Yes, I can help you with candida, and this

program can correct blood sugar issues too, since it is low-carb, high " good "

fats and moderate protein. It is the " kinds of carbs " that are important.

Candida is not cured by " killing it off. " It just doesn't work that way.

Candida is only cured by building up the immune system, which is done by:

1) Consuming " proper nutrients " (diet plus supplements),

2) Eliminating toxins and foods that feed candida (they also feed bacteria and

cancer),

3) Eliminating damaging foods, and

4) Eliminating toxins in general.

So please ensure you read two important articles, so you understand candida, and

know what you need to do and why:

2) Curing Candida, How to Get Started
