Guest guest
Hi...I have used xylitol without any problems on the protocol. With that said, there are two warnings I must share.1) Use it in moderation.Bottom line is that it is a substance (natural or otherwise) that is "technically" not part of the diet. So you can use it in moderation.2) Build up while using it.Xylitol is a sugar alcohol. It tastes just like sugar... it is great. But with that said, if you use too much before building tolerance, it will give you the runs. Its just a natural part of the process. Same thing happens when you are not used to eating regular sugar and all of a sudden you gorge. Most people cramp up and have bathroom issues when encountering a new natural sweetner.Hope this helps...Take care,Rick Xylitol? I read on one of the posts that we can use Xylitol, instead of STevia, to sweeten our teas. Is this true? If so, does it also apply to phase 2? Xylitol, is far less expensive from what I have seen, and that would be a real blessing for me! Thanks, in NC Get your own web address. Have a HUGE year through Small Business. Guest guest
Another name for this is Lo Han which is approved in our diet. > > I read on one of the posts that we can use Xylitol, instead of STevia, > to sweeten our teas. Guest guest
Hi...From my understanding Lo Han and Xylitol are not the same substance. Lo Han is from a Chinese fruit... Xylitol comes from birch trees. But with that said, from my experience, you can use any natural sweetener (in moderation) that does not increase your blood sugar during use.Take care...Rick Re: Xylitol? Guest guest
I get all my beef from grasslandbeef.com. They have sausage made with beef, water, celtic sea salt, spices, and xylitol(instead of sugar). Is this okay to have? -

Xylitol is not okay, since it is an alcohol-based sweetener that is made by extracting xylan from birch wood or corn cobs, and reacting it with water to produce xylose or " wood sugar. " Hydrogen (H2) is then added to make 'Xylitol.' Since xylitol is listed last, there won't be very much of it. I suggest you eat what you have and don't buy any more. I don't understand why companies insist on putting sugar in meat products. It is better to make your own sausage. The best, Bee
