Guest guest
*** Hi Doug: I hope you and Marina get back on Bee's diet. You haven't been gone that long and if I'm figuring correctly, it would only take a month to get back on track if you'd been away a year...and you haven't been gone as long as that!! I sympathize with having symptoms past your one-year mark. I've talked with a couple of people on this forum about how we've experienced a big desire to cheat more or add foods back in as we get around the year mark. I don't know if it happens to everybody, but it certainly has happened to me and a few others. It's almost as if the yeast can tell it's not gonna survive Bee's diet and it makes a desperate effort to lure me back into eating sugar/grains. Anyway, I experienced a few rough weeks a couple of months ago where I found myself suddenly not being able to resist rice and beans and once I gave in to more than a cheat a week, I suddenly found myself having them everyday. I couldn't believe how " possessed " I was by the starches since I had been so oblivious to them for so long. I wrestled them away after two weeks and re-committed myself to Bee's program and I've experienced a new level of cleansing in this period. I had a body funk that just wasn't going away that came on about 3 weeks ago, and finally two days ago it just stopped. (!!!) And I smell sweet again. I've also redeveloped some joint aches and stiffness that had gone away early in the program and is now coming around again. But I also just realized that I'm retracing the time in my life where I stopped being a vegetarian and started eating meat again (after 20 years). I had started eating meat because I was getting such joint stiffness. Anyway, your post made me think about how I had a falling away after a little over a year on the program... and you and Marina (and others I've talked to) have had this struggle after significant time on the program. I wonder what causes it, but it does seem like a bit of a phenomenon. Maybe others can attest to this. But, if you can make it through, you'll be glad you did. I know I am. Maybe you and Marina have just gone through this " phase " and will be glad when you recommit to the diet. Hope you are back! Marissa >After 18 months, Marina couldn't handle the diet anymore. I made it about 13 months. >Symptoms were a lot less than they used to be, although the bloating came back. But >slowly, I can tell I'm reverting back. I can tell a huge difference off-diet. Joint aches, >overall " stiffness " , etc.. etc... > Doug
