Guest guest
Dear Bee, Just wondering if you could give me your opinion on this - I'm suffering from chronic pain and dryness in my throat and mouth/tongue, and it gets so bad that often I am unable to speak. I have had this problem for the past year. The symptoms worsen the more I talk, and sometimes there is an unpleasant metallic taste which I have heard described by other candida sufferers. (I don't see a great deal of 'white coating' on my tongue, there is some but it's not really obvious or anything.) The discomfort is so bad that it restricts me from talking for more than an hour or two on a good day, and there are weeks when I can barely speak at all. I was wondering if you had encountered this issue before, and if you might know of something I could try to remedy it? I was actually given a course of anti-fungal lozenges by a doctor I saw some months ago, but they did not have any effect. Is this likely to be candida-related, do you think? Or perhaps something else? (Some background - I joined this group a couple of months ago, after having been put on a similar anti-candida diet by my naturopath. I've been gradually making the various dietary changes, and as far as food is concerned I've been on the diet for at least 2 months, started taking coconut oil about a month ago and am now up to 4 tbspns per day without any major reactions, and I'm on most of the supplements but still need to add a few more things I think. I've also been finishing off a bottle of anti-fungal capsules from the naturopath, which includes oil of oregano, pau d'arco, barberry, garlic, etc. Then I'll start just having plain garlic/kyolic.) Thank you for reading all this, and thank you so much too for the knowledge and encouragement that you provide on your website and in this group. Blessings, Mari. The main cause of dry mouth is because your body is running mainly on its sympathetic nervous system instead of its parasympathetic nervous system, which is understandable since being sick causes a lot of stress, and candida sufferers also have stressed out adrenals so they are producing high adrenaline. Running on the sympathetic nervous system is the system that kicks in during a fight or flight threat, and it shuts down some functions throughout the body in order for adrenaline to help us react. The best thing you can do to alleviate dry mouth is regular consistent deep breathing exercises, which switches your body over from its sympathetic to its parasympathetic system: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/breath1.php Secondly, do dry skin brushing every day to help your adrenals, and also do coffee enemas which decongest the liver and adrenals: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/treat7.php http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/enema1.php > > (Some background - I joined this group a couple of months ago, after having been put on a similar anti-candida diet by my naturopath. I suggest you stop taking them for awhile, and just take unrefined coconut oil. You may find that helps alleviate the stress you are experiencing too. " More is not better, " since the body just gets overwhelmed. > Thank you for reading all this, and thank you so much too for the knowledge and encouragement that you provide on your website and in this group. +++You are so very welcome Mari! Onward & upward! Blessings to you too, Bee
