I remember during the time when we knew something was wrong but didn't know what it was, my hubby and I had a meeting with an individual and we sat on either side of him. The whole time that he was around us, he sneezed, kept rubbing his face and he scratched. I hate it as I know that we somewhat infested him. I just hope that he and his family weren't affected by it after he got home. I have also " felt " them in alot of the places that you have mentioned below. Fearing a re-infestation I quickly run to the car & spray myself down... head staright home and do my protocol... So far so good! I think this is more wide spread than anyone cares to admit to. I can go to various grocery stores and the Lice spray... Epsom salts... Ammonia and even bleach are flying off the shelves pretty fast. Most households I think are keeping it " hush hush " ... at least they are in my area... Just my humble opinion. Hope you are doing ok ? Trly > > I can't believe these creatures are that contagious. I take every precaution that i can to protect others, some you cant avoid, but if there is something i can do, then i do it. AND that includes not trying on clothing at stores, not getting too close to family members, and keeping my contact with the public to a minimum. And if you think they are just attracted to your bloodtype, you have to know that you arent the only person in the world with that blood type. What do you suggest for people? For the first few months I avoided visiting family and friends, but my wife didn't believe that I truly had a problem with mites after awhile and didn't want to avoid friends and family. She still thinks I have a psycological problem, but I know that is not true. I will not go to any shopping complex where pigeons land or land near as is. The other night my other half told me he got a fungus after trying on clothing from a dpt store. I've been doing really well after starting a new bathing program so one of my friends convinced me to come over for dinner. I went and kept feeling crawlies pretty much the whole time, all on my head. I thought, oh I'm just having a bad night, which I hadn't had for weeks. It didn't come to me till the next day that her house is buggy. She also has had the eye, nose , ear and hair scratching and rubbing signs. I don't know if I brought them in before I knew what I had or if she has just had them. I've asked her several times if she thinks she has them and she repeatly has said no. She does not feel them like I do. So the moral of the story is I know I will have to be on guard forever. I will instantly go into high protocol mode at the first hint of a crawlie. My hubby swears he doesnt feel a damn thing but I tell ya, I see him constantly scratching and all. he just wont admit it so of course, those bugs make a bee line for me. I got her to do the tea tree baths, launder and vaccum like crazy, and take the OO. This week she says the crawling is gone. I told her to keep it up for a month more. Glad she cauth it at the start. I really believe some people don't realize that they are scratching. I have a good friend that I had been over to his house many times before I knew what I had and his house does not seem to have the problem, but they are in his car (I was being bitten, till I got him to let me CO2 the vehicle). So, how does that work? They have to be coming into the house with him, yet I don't feel them when I am over there? The only thing thats different at his house is that it has one of those ionic air purifiers (a expensive one). I got a bunch of th raid ones, and figured out that the ones everyone were talking about were different, i was dissappointed until we figured out that they were basically borax and karo syrup. I got my critters, plural, from 1. 1979-94--Ex husband brought to the marriage what he described as a "little parasite" in his ears, which he had picked up in Viet Nam. He made them sound cute, I think they liked me better. 2. 1995-1997--Divorce house had had rats, had a basement. I cleaned up and sealed up the inside of the house but didn't think about the basement, where my dog liked to go to cool off and I didn't stop her (ignorant). She brought me a little gift I thought was poison ivy, the doc thought was "winter scabies" (it was summer, I never figured out where he got that), and which I still have on the back of my left hand. The only thing that will stop the itch there is a dangerous steroid gel called Clobetasol Propionate. Although the borax mix ( Doe's recipe, previously posted) does reduce the incidences of rabid itching. My current husband describes what happened when he sat on my sofa one day: "I put my hand on the seat and something, a bunch of somethings, swarmed up my arm." He would then have a bad night of itching and crawling, but only one night. He has gout. Coult it be the uric acid? 3. 1997--New coworker sat in my chair, at my keyboard, while I trained her. I used hydrogen peroxide, white and cider vinegar, wine, olive oil, shortening, witch hazel, oatmeal soap, you name it, I used it, but I never stumbled onto borax + hydrogen peroxide. That's brilliant. Thanks to doe or whoever tumbled to that and shared it, because it is helping me. 10. Year?--I discovered Dustmite and sprayed my home, car, office. 8 weeks later I was finally able to control my car and work environments by vacuuming every 3 to 7 days, 2 days in a row if needed. I discovered what for me then and many years after was the "magic bullet" that reduced bites to a manageable level in the locations where I spent the most time. 11. 2008--8 months came and went since I sprayed Dustmite. One day it was like I never sprayed it. I was being innoculated all over again. Meanwhile I had been told not to vacuum, not to spray. I actually had to go to the union to be allowed to freaking vacuum. No one else, anywhere, was told not to vacuum. Ultimately, they bought me my OWN vacuum, for my use and my area only, as a kind of accommodation, I guess. I stopped attending my church because the seats were upholstered and common (bench seats). I cannot get a professional haircut. That's ok, because I shave my head and wear wigs (soaked nightly in enzymes) anyway. I cannot try on clothes or shoes. I have to guess whether something will fit me. However, I've reached the point where I can effectively decontaminate myself, and don't get re-contaminated in my apartment too easily.
