Guest guest
Hi , I'm a new member and no authority on this subject, but I did just google 'coconut oil kills good bacteria?' and came up with some references. Here's a quote from a naturopath who's written a book about coconut oil: 'One of the good things about lauric acid in virgin coconut oil is that it kills lipid-coated bacteria but does not appear to harm the friendly intestinal bacteria. The MCFA (medium chain fatty acids) in coconut oil also have antifungal properties so not only will they kill disease-causing bacteria and leave good bacteria alone, they will also kill candida and other fungi in the intestinal tract, further supporting a healthy intestinal environment.' http://www.coconut-connections.com/candida.htm Also from the same author: http://books.google.com.au/books?id=Lt3EiRdJPIMC & pg=PA37 & lpg=PA37 & dq=coconut+oil\ +kills+good+bacteria%3F & source=bl & ots=TwiOpCwJEA & sig=8FcgT86MwEF5F6mCm43FwnWNkFc\ & hl=en & ei=M1mfSuibCteCkAWLk5XqDw & sa=X & oi=book_result & ct=result & resnum=2#v=onepag\ e & q=coconut%20oil%20kills%20good%20bacteria%3F & f=false Ah, found this on Bee's site too!: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/coconut3.php. 'Also, since monolaurin doesn't attack bacteria directly, the healthy bacteria we need to create B-vitamins and perform other functions in the digestive tract are unaffected -- again unlike antibiotics, which kill all bacteria indiscriminately.' > > If I take cabbage juice, kiefer or probiotic after meals would the coconut oil I took with the meal kill the healthy bacteria? > > > Thanks > > Dalley >
Guest guest
Hi , Only anti-biotics made in a lab kill good bacteria. All NATURAL anti-fungals like garlic, coconut oil, pau d'arco tea, oregano oil, cloves, ginger, cayenne etc. will NOT kill good bacteria, but they will destroy the bad. Guest guest
It NEVER kills the good bacteria. Like I said in a previous post, not one single natural God made anti-fungal kills the good bacteria in your stomach, whether you combine it with food, or fermented foods or anything.
