Guest guest
Well, as I've said before my explantation went well. The surgery was done the 25th. I returned Monday for a check. The Dr. decided to take my drains out. Yes, that did hurt alittle. The dizziness I felt the day after surgery went away the next day. Today is my last day of antibiotics. I had made it clear that I wanted my implants returned to me after surgery. The Dr. had said fine. The day of the surgery I " d ask if I could leave with them they said they wanted to clean them up and I could get them on my check up. Well, they really didn't want to give them back. I ask three times. Each time they'd say yes,but no one was getting them. Finally the nurse said well what are you going to do with them. I said probably throw them away. She said well you can do that now with me here. I said no, I wanted to do it later and I wanted to bring them home with me. The Dr.said " you do realize over time they will begin to grow mold inside " . I said really? He said yes when they are out of the body and the air and light gets to them they will grow mold. (hay I thought nothing went in nothing went out unless they ruptured---then it's just salt water right? Don't you just love being told half truths?) Anyway he said yeah over time we have to throw out the ones we keep in the office to show patients because of the growth inside. I kept insisting I wanted them and although they were never rude they gave up the crusade and got them. they had them each in a zip lock bag. They put them in another bag for me so everyone would not see what I was totting out. They said really they were not suppose to be thrown away in the regular trash because they were like a bio hazard since they have been in the body. I said well my grandmother and aunt are nurses so I'm sure they could take them to the hopital and have them disposed of. The nurse came back to tell that wouldn't be necassary. Just when I get ready to throw them out cut them open, drain out the stuff and throw them away. She said they had been cleaned in clorox water but only the outside. So I get home and pull them out to look and let my husband see. They saline looked clear and at first I thought man why did they bother cleaning the outside if they were just gonna get stuff on them. It looked like this blue-green funck. I went to wipe my finger across it and realized it wasn't on the outside. It was on the inside!!! In one implant there is a piece floating around about the size of the lead at the end of a pencil and the other has a piece floating in it but it is also growing around the circle imprint on the side opposite the valve. I couldn't believe it! What if I decided to wait till one ruptured to do anything? They could have been black in a few years! Something is definately growing in them!! I'm glad I listened to the convictions the Lord was laying on my heart. I want to stick them away in my closet in the dark(so they can't say light exposure is the cause of growth) and see what happens. Does this sound crazy? I have to go back the first week of Feb. I want to ask the Dr. if he noticed that stuff and why he didn't mention it. I wonder if he thought I'd leave them in the zip lock bags not take them out and just toss them in a trash can on the way home. Ok. I'll be for real. He's probably going to say what? I'm not sure I know what you're talking about. If I bring them back with me to show him, will he take them back from me? I'm just in a spin. To think what can be there if you wait. How can they tell you when you go to get these things put in there's no conclusive evidence to support the fungus growth therory? My husband just smiled when I ask him that and said " well, honey, it's not conclusive until your lawyer is present at the time of explantation to see for himself, not to mention the witnesses needed, the presence of Dow, Mentor, etc., and let's not forget the studies that need to be done on the studies before they can actually do the studies on it! And blah blah! " He's so crazy! Although he did make a few fungus among us jokes later on that night, he said how very glad he was I choose to have them removed and not wait!!He's been telling everyone whose called to check on me about what they have in them. Needless to say not everyone knew exactly what type of surgery I was having. Welp they do now! How do you tell a fundimental independent baptist preacher your're having your fake breasts removed? Just let your husband answer the phone after he sees the removed implant! Guess this is way longer than I thought it would be. My scars are @ an in. maybe a little longer under each breast. He said he removed all the scar tissue/capsule he could. Just wanted to let everyone know how it went.My prayers are still with all of you!!! Guest guest
Cristy, I'm so glad you stuck to your guns and insisted you take your implants home with you. At least this was you had a chance to see for yourself and perhaps put aside any of the doubts you may have had. Your husband sounds like a character and a real support. The best to you, Jackie ----- Original Message ----- From: rowecristy@...
