First, thanks to everyone for your replies to my " Confused After MD

Consult " post. As I continue to look into explantation, can you tell

me what usually happens with insurance. Are explants covered? I spent

so much money to get them in, I don't know if I can afford paying out

of pocket for another procedure.

Thanks,

, Sometimes your insurance will cover them, most need you to send in at least two letters from Doctors stating it a medical neccesity to cover them, and then they vote on their decision, Then you are approved with a specific amount, or declined, which you can appeal. In my case, I sent in alot of copies of my bloodwork, and correlated them with studies on the effects from implants pertaining to my diseases. It was like 20 pages long, (maybe a little overboard) but I was very proud of what I put together, and all I had worked on. I made it a very professional package, that was for sure. I ended up having the whole procedure covered, (over $11,000) except for the lift. Dr Kolb does this alot, and gets coverage for many women. I know Dr Feng does too. I work in insurance, and I dont care what anybody says, PPO's to me, are the most likey to cover. HMS have alot of restrictions. I am sure their have been women that have gotten them covered with their HMO's, but to me, a PPO plan is gold for this. I still think that was the only thing I had going for me at the time, besides my husbands support, was a great insurance plan! Also , Patty what is that site, with info on how to help women get their explants covered? That was what helped me a great deal. Good Luck to you on this. You have a good chance at getting them covered, if you make a good case, and get those doctors letters. If you were to go to a PS who would it be? Alot of women go to them for their initial appointment to also get their 1st letter, and that helps alot. Love,
