Guest guest
My daughter, after having a generalized seizure again last night, acted like she couldn't see, which scared the life out of me. Also, she bit her tongue and was talking very funny which happens after a grand mal but not this funny and she also threw up which she has never done. We just finished weaning her off of her morning dose of Zonegran about 1 1/2 weeks ago and just raised her bedtime dose of Lamictal last night. Could this be a reaction from the weaning and the increasing? I feel like every medicine she's been on has brought on all these weird seizures and it's making me crazy. Thanks for your help! Guest guest
Mark, She's doing better this morning, more alert and happier, but even yesterday I was a little worried about her because she was so quiet and barely ate because of her tongue and was talking funny, she still is but not as bad and she ate a little better this morning. I called her neuro yesterday and explained the situation and he thinks that she might have caught something at school, but I know it's the weaning of the Zonegran. I really believe that the grand mals she had were withdrawl seizures and I never liked Zonegran, and I can't wait until I completely wean her off of it, but now I'm scared because I know what happens whenever we reduce the dose. So now, I don't know how I am going to take her off of the rest of it. She's only on 25mg at night time only. This is just too hard on her, but taking her off of it, I know, will be better for her. I wish I could just take her off of all the drugs and let her be herself. God willing, maybe one day. Guest guest
Milo, Hi, how are you doing? Interesting question but for me I think it's a different kind of prejudice or more than anything an ignorance. People just aren't educated and because of that there is a lack of understanding. But whatever it is being black, tall, short, too skinny, too heavy, etc. its all wrong lizzie --------------------------------- Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min. Guest guest
Ditto on what Lizzie said, and this too which made me remember what my first job's supervisor, a Black man, said to me and who actually gave me a chance:) hiring me, because I was fresh out of HS and also my being a dwarf. So he knew firsthand the things I would encounter in life as a dwarf, simply because he had already from his being African American. However, he would say this occassionally to me so that I would never forget, which was also true, as he, I and all the rest in our department used to get into debates all the time:P. He'd say, " You may have it hard and you do. Be denied things just because of your dwarfism and people not accepting you Grady. But still you, yes you, Grady, a white dwarf, will always be much more invited, embraced, accepted, and allowed to date an average sized man's average sized daughter than a black dwarf... never forget that. " And I never did:). ~Grady Hi, how are you doing? Interesting question but for me I think it's a different kind of prejudice or more than anything an ignorance.
