Calcium, vitamin D urged for epilepsy patients - Preventing Bone Loss

F. Kirn

SEATTLE -- Bone loss in epilepsy patients is a serious problem that

has not received enough attention, experts said at the annual

meeting of the American Epilepsy Society.

Some of those experts urged that all epilepsy patients, regardless

of the medications they might be on, should receive calcium and

vitamin D supplementation. "

  • 3 months later...

As soon as i see what I need, I will definitely make my own processor pouch.

I am a quilter and also make all kinds of small items, bookcovers, jewellery

travellers, notebooks, small purses etc.................all out of 100%

cotton. Are the pouches you talk about for the BWP? or the BTE when you

need to remove it for swimming etc? I am having my surgery Dec. 13 with

" switch-on " in Feb. so not sure what size etc the pouches need to be. I do

know they will be beautiful, bright fabrics!

surgery Dec.13/04

Hi ,

I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your email, been hectic around

here (in Oregon). I am a quilter too, but I don't think I am talented enough to

make something that does not bulge out. I wear my BWP in my bra currently, I

feel most confident if it is in place there. The only time I have a problem

with it is when the battery goes out and I am in a public place, but most people

who know me already know where I carry it, so I just try and be discreet and

change the battery.

It is very exciting about your implant on the 13th and I hope that you will stay

in touch. I'd like to know how things go for you. I had my surgery on January

2, 1997, so I have had mine for quite some time. My switch on was February 12

and it was a great pre-valentines day gift. Its been wonderful. It changed my

outlook on life and my only regret is that I waited so long to have it done.

Take care,
