Guest guest
Tracey -- there is also a study going on at New York University Comprehensive Epilepsy Center with Dr. Josie LaJoie. She seems to feel there is some evidence that melatonin can be helpful with sleep seizures, but that you may have to go up to 10 mg. I'm waiting for the results of the study. Our son takes 3 mg a night. It helps with sleep but not with seizures. Jane [?] Re: [ ] Questions about Melatonin Grace, How did the Melatonin help? Did it decrease seizure activity? I spoke with the neuro today in regards to the melatonin and she said that there is a study going on in India but 's seizures are related to the transition from the third to the fourth sleep cycle and melatonin does not help with this??? Thanks for your reply. Tracey

I found that getting the help with sleep helped to reduce the number of seizures my son experienced. M

Guest guest
If any of you hear anymore about the results of these studies- please post them. I am wondering also if melatonin is safe to give with AED's, so if you hear anything in regards to this as well, please post. Thanks, Tracey
