PLEASE do everything you can to avoid pharmaceuticals, they are breaking down my sweet son's body. For liver support, Charlie gets milk thistle daily and dandelion and raw grated beets in his /our diet regularly. Also good brain fats like olive oil, fish oil, flaxseed oil and virgin coconut oil. There are several good books about dealing with seizures non pharmaceutically..... Guest guest
Hi Suzanne, My surgeon is in Columbia, land (a town right in-between Baltimore and D.C.) . The practice is Potomac Valley Orthopedics in Columbia, located right behind 's Hopkins Co. General Hospital. My amazing, compassionate and multi-talented surgeon is Dr.Sanjog Mathur. Potomac Valley has several offices in the Balt./D.C. area and each office has it's own radiology, CT, MRI, and Physical Therapy departments which is a HUGE PLUS when you take the Balt./D.C. beltway traffic into account...less driving to get tests means less chance of an accident! Dr. Mathur's spine practice is growing by leaps and bounds. I was just down there last week to take my son (knee problem) to see another doc in that office and Dr. Mathur was in surgery but I spoke with one of his office nurses...even after nearly 6 years, the staff at his office still remembers me...think I spent a lot of time in there??!! Jeannie was telling me that Dr. Mathur is "busier than a one-armed paper hanger"! And the last time I spoke with Dr. Mathur he said "Just exactly how much time DO you spend on that Flatback web site of yours? I 've had more than just 'a few' patients come through here in the past few years who've told me they were here because of what they read on that site by a "Beth"!! Not that I don't appreciate the recommendations; on the contrary, I'm honored by your faith in me! It just amazes me how WELL EDUCATED these patients and their families are about Flatback Sydrome before they come in!! Surgeries, treatments, tests, meds...they know about everything I do for Flatback patients! It just amazes me!!" Years ago I had asked his permission to use his name and practice on this site because I felt so strongly about his approach to this horror of a deformity. I guess he didn't realize just how valuable this site is to those of us who contribute and read the postings! ly, I'll bet most Ortho docs have NO IDEA how difficult it is for us to find a physician we can trust with our lives! If they only knew... I hope this help with your search...oh I almost forgot...the phone # for the Columbia office is (410) 992-7800 and the Olney office is (301) 774-0500. And one additional note...There's another Ortho doc in with Dr. Mathur who actually asists on many if not all of the big spinal revisions. His name is Dr. Bahatnager and while he wasn't my primary surgeon I know that he assisted Dr.M. on my case (being nosey as I am, I have copies of all of my medical reports including my OR report...and being weird as well as nosey, I acually ENJOY reading my reports!! Call me crazy if you like but because I read my operative report, I KNEW that NO ONE had made any blatantly "stupid" mistakes during my 14 hr. reivsion procedure!!! The dura of my spinal cord DID get "nicked" as I was told. While that may sound like a major "boo-boo", according to the op notes, they called in a neurosurgeon within 2mins. to do an emergency repair and the only side-effect was that Instead of returning to my regular room after recovery, I spent 48 hrs. in ICU lying flat on my back attached to a special spinal cord fluid monitoring machine to regulate my spinal fluid loss which turned out to be less than minimal. We're all told of the risks involved in this type of major revision from anesthesia reactions to the biggest one we ALL fear...partial or total paralysis. But I think it's a safe bet to say that by the time we finally make the decsion to go forward with revision surgery, we have been to hell and back!! It's not exactly like we just jump into this...if you're reading this post that only proves my point...you are educating yourself and your family about this horror and what you can do to regain control of your life. Date: Sat May 20, 2006 3:46pm(PDT) Subject: Labels and Rules I had been researching the law about what I would be required to put on labels, which ingredients am I required to list? Reading all the information about it was not all that enlightening, so I decided to call the person in charge in Ohio, which was The Department of Agriculture. Hi Fabienne, I too am in Ohio, and for my labeling I list all of the ingredients in my product. (Natural Perfumes). But I think that the labeling requirements are National, rather than State by State. I spent some time awhile back in the Wild Oats, looking at the bottles of natural fragrance on their shelves. None of them have full disclosure, and many have no listing of ingredients at all. I have even purchase from some of the natural perfumery sites online, and still no ingredients list... The only thing that I believe must be on a product such as perfume is the Product Name, Company Name/Place and Size. For my product I have a sticker that fits on the bottom of the perfume bottle. I do use a fair amount of organic essential oils, and herbs, but I do not list them all as such, or make any sort of claims in that area.. Since the Government now controls the use of the word " Organic " and " Certified Organic " , in products, it is wise to just let it go unless you are willing to have everything tested and have the documentation available, if someone should ask. I do note where citrus, or oils thought to contribute to sensitivity, is used in a product, and give instruction for using the perfumes, addressing sensitivity issues, etc... Since not everyone has the same issues with sensitivity, a general cautionary statement for all product is a good idea. I will have my ingredients list posted online when we go live with the storefront in a few weeks. It will be the same exact thing as I am placing in each box of perfume. That way people can have full disclosure before they purchase as well as when the receive the product. No sneaky Trans-Fat ingredients list, scam here.... haha! Peace, Zz......
