Jim,

That was the most interesting report I have every read. Thank you!

I would love to get my epileptic daughter as well as myself on this

gluten free, dairy free diet, but I don't know where to begin. Almost

everything I have in the kitchen has wheat in it or is a dairy product.

Can you point me in the right direction on how to begin. Thank you! God

Bless!

Grace

Jim,

I read this report immediately you posted it in November 2003. Thank

you!

I liked the approach in the report so I read also nearly all the

documents on www.dogtorj.com and dogtorj.tripod.com sites.

So we put our daughter, who is diagnosed with idiopathic generalized

epilepsy with both tonic-clonic and absence seizures, on a gluten-free

casein-free (GFCF) diet. For the first 3 months we did not see

improvement. However, we continued with the diet adding Peptidase

Complete digestive enzyme (www.kirkmanlabs.com). We treat her also

with a progesterone cream (because her seizures have catamenial

connection), vit.B6 and vit.E. We saw a considerable improvement in

her behaviour and seizures, which we think is mainly due to the GFCF

diet and the peptidase enzyme. Although it is very early for any

conclusions we are hopeful. I hope this information will help somebody

else as well.

It would be very helpful if you or somebody else could comment/share

experience/give guidelines on treatment of epilepsy by GFCF diet and

digestive enzymes.
