i can't really tell you what it could be!!!!! i'll tell you something else alot

of dr's today are just in it for the money and nothing else. they will try to

push pills down your throat just so they make more money.

Hi Mark,

I did not know that 's staring spells were seizures for almost

2 yrs after I spotted them. I mentioned it to the dr. and he acted

like it was no big deal. They only happened - that I saw - a couple

of times a month, though I was in school or working and gone a lot.

They definitely weren't that bad then. But he was not talking at 3

except for a several words together and by 5 he was no better and

could not memorize anything. You know how kids love to memorize

songs and commercials, bits of anything that they find interesting?

could never remember more than one word if he was asked to

repeat two. If he liked a song he would make up nonsense words. A

neuroeducational consultant told me she thought he was having

seizures and that it was connected to his language, so I took him to

a neuro who dismissed my worries!! Unreal, eh? But that has been

our story all along. The point is he never got a diagnosis - or the

toxic meds - until he was 9 and the epilepsy had blown up into a big

problem and he would go blind with head pain and vomit non-stop until

we had to get help. We still had more trouble getting a doctor who

seemed to really be knowledgeable about his type of epilepsy.

Weird. So, he never had meds until 9 and he didn't drink much pop as

a child. I was always an on again off again health fanatic and

though I have a weakness for pop I have shied away from mixes and msg

and anything that is not pretty much plain stuff I can create a dish

from scratch with. I know I used some things like bread and

tortillas, and pasta, but I eventually got to the point of looking at

grinding my own wheat and only buying the best bread I could get,

making my own often, using no white flour or sugar - a lot of

improvements. I have had a really, really rough year and I fell into

eating out a lot as and I live rural and have to travel a

long way to any town. I was my mother's guardian and she was in a

mess and keeping us in an uproar for months ( actually 4 yrs ) and

then suddenly she felt sick and the dr said she was not going to live

more than 6 months. She was gone in 4 weeks. 's seizures did

get worse during this time of trash eating. But, what made the

seizures start is what interests me b/c therein lies the answer. I

don't think it was toxicity.

I'd like to know that too! That's pretty awful considering that some of

us have children who have many seizures per day.

Mark,

I am sorry that you lost your brother. However I have to say I do not believe

that his brain exploding was the cause of his death. Perhaps he died from being

given too many poisonous drugs in an attempt to treat him that may have caused

some sort of brain damage related to his untimely demise. If a doctor was

responsible for telling you this tall tale, I am doubly sorry.

I understand now that you are not trying to be crude by making a comment like

this. Many others on this list are dealing with numerous daily seizures

themselves or are trying to help a loved one who suffers like this. It is not

helpful or accurate to describe a person dealing with epilepsy as a living time

bomb waiting for their brain to blow-up.

I am sorry that your brother passed on due to something related to epilepsy or

the treatment that was used.

Bless you,

M
