Guest guest
, I got the same reaction from our neuro when I mentioned a connection between the amalgams and the seizures. They either do not want to hear it or they are ignorant to it. I think in time they will find that there is a link, it is just too bad that we cannot get the help we need for our kids. Guest guest
No test have been done as the Neurologist thinks I am daft. He says there is no mercury connection. That the seizures are heriditary ( this despite no family health history). This Neurologist is supposed to be the best in the state. He has not done any tests other than an EEG. Any ideas and advice are appreciated. I really think I need an orthomolecular MD that will treat a child - in the PA, DE, MD area. Pfieffer clinic has adviced me they don't treat seizure disorders. Thanks, [ ] Re: Homepathic Remedy for Epilepsy Mike, What tests have you had done concerning your son? > Arnold and , > Thanks for the thoughtful replies. There does not seem to be a vaccination connection as he is 7 and has not received any vaccines in the last year. I really thought it was related to the amalgams as he had seizures in the past but had been seizure free without meds for over a year. The tooth was filled but still irritated him, then suddenly the filling fell out. He may have swallowed it, I'm not sure. The doctor found infection there and treated that and refilled it yet he still sometimes complains it hurts. After he went on the merc. sol. and it was working another chunk of the filling on the tooth directly above that tooth fell out and he seems to have swallowed some of that filling too. Then the seizures came back and are not really being helped by the merc. sol. now. Except that he is now rousable to some extent during the seizures. He is taking many supplements and vitamins. B6, B5, B complex, Probiotic, Pycnogenol, Coral Calcium, Mineral Rich, Vitamin E, 5 HTP, Taurine, and a multivitamin and a food supplement. His diet is not quite good but we are working on getting him to eat better. We moved a year ago and our new home has well water so there may be levels of something in there too that he is sensitive too. > > Here are my two big questions for tonight: > > 1. Guest guest
they do too treat seizures, and bill walsh and I discuss personally how to stop them. The first order of business is to promote metallothionein, and add zinc and build glutathione! Heal the gut, go on a SCD diet or gluten or cassein free msg free diet. Tell me what happens if you do just that! Guest guest
, How old is your child? I suggest you seek " second opinions " online. Many doctors will give advice via e-mail. Some will even review medical records and provide you with their assessment of the situation for FREE. On such clinic is s-Reiter . But, there are many others. Just check out the resources on our group's website. More medical insight BEFORE spending more money is a good thing, right? Then, why not pursue it? There is also a book with should be available at your local public library called, Epilepsy: A New Approach. Check it out. Good luck. Guest guest
Thanks Kathy, I had called the main number for Pfieffer as I wanted to do a visit when they travel to my area and the nurse that answered said " No " when I asked if they treated seizure disorders. It's great to hear that they may now. First, where can I find out what the SCD diet is ? Second, what is metallothionein ? I'm sure there is a zinc deficency as his nails became covered with white spots when the seizures started . He takes a supplement plus Mineral Rich by Maximum Living. He was already taking the Mineral Rich daily for over a year when the deficency began - this is one reason I suspected mercury was draining the zinc. Of course the Neuro and the homeopath say it is just trauma to his fingernails - then why did it also effect his toe nails ? What suggestions would you make for heling the gut ? He had been taking Primadophillous Jr. for over a year - 3xs a day. Now he is taking 1 full caplet of Primal defense instead ( 1/2 AM and 1/2 PM) - Do you think we can increase this to more ? He is only 7 years old and 60 lbs. What would help to build glutathione ? I am very willing to try the diet suggestion. Thanks for your help. Guest guest
Mike, Take heed to Kathy and Mark. They know what they are talking about and can help you remove some of the road blocks you have built for yourself. Have as much testing done as possible. Its better to know than to play guessing games. In the mean time, do what Kathy suggested and if you are dead set against AEDs, you could try B & B, and Anti-spasmodic tinctures to control his seizures. I know I have used the herbs in the B & B tincture with success. Good Luck! Mike Mchugh <mcpitza@...> wrote:No test have been done as the Neurologist thinks I am daft. Guest guest
Reduce Iron, that is the one thing I would do (IP-6, cal, mag, b-6, lactoferrin or apo lactoferrin)-. For more info join the autism_iron group and look at archives, and or look at my iron paper on www.childscreen.org and click on proposals and #2 iron overload and autism, it will mention the epilepsy. Also reduce ALL MSG foods (hidden ingredients are on www.truthinlabeling.com ). Specific Carbohydrate Diet is in a book by GOTSCHALL, Elaine, look on and Noble, Highly recommend it. Many people with epilepsy have carbohydrate metabolism problems. MT promotion therapy can be veiwed by clicking on childscreen again and on BILL WALSH's name on the TEAM MEMBERS PAGE. It is extensive reading, but take the time. Bill Walsh himself loads ZINC up to 500 to 1000 mg a day on kiids with autism, then starts them on the MT promotion therapy. Zoe has a paper on Zinc supplementation and control of seizures. So far knock on wood, where's wood....my son has been seizure free for 4 months! This is the scenario for many kids with autism or seizures, HIGH OR LOW COPPER, HIGH OR LOW ZINC, LOW SELENIUM and CHROMIUM and BORON, HIGH IRON or ANEMIA or HYPOGAMMAGLOBULENMIA. This sets up shop to have metabolic failure in the brain, especially in presence of MERCURY AND ALUMINUM. Also all, please sign our poll on childscreen, we need your responses to send to senators and congressman. THANKS ALL! Records folks Kathy Also, am doing this new program at www.adamtechnology.net . You can contact Dr Champion if your interested. VERY INTERESTING CHANGES JUST TWO DAYS ON THE PROGRAM! Guest guest
Mike, B & B is just a tincture made out of Black Cohash, Blue Cohash, Vervain and I believe he puts Lobelia in it as well. I don't know the percentages used.. I will email the site to you.. where they sell the ready made formula and how it is used if you want to try it. As far as testing goes... you can pursue that on your own.. if you know what tests to have done and they have been listed on this site. Mark can help you with this.. Dr. Huggins.. a dentist at Huggins.com also has a 70-page report he will do for you which includes quite a bit...if you are still worried about the amalgams..Kathy knows about the testing and where to have it done. There are so many professionals out there that are willing to help you.. This site has been extremely helpful to me. If you are patient.. the information that you need will come to you. You have to clear all the road blocks and be open to everything coming across...there will be certain things that jump out at you...take time to do research ..and that will lead to the professionals that are willing to help. There is a reason you are here Mike..so just let it happen. Mike Mchugh <mcpitza@...> wrote:Thanks Lorinda, What are B & B.
