Guest guest
Hi e, I highly doubt that he would be interested in doing a show on our side at all. Ilena has written about this show and the producers and how they totally were unethical in the way that they conducted themselves. You can find this info on the alt.support.breastimplants group on Google if you do a search. Personally, I would write this guy off, as he has heard all this before, and he has made up his mind. There are some people who just won't see our side. I won't discourage any of you from taking part in this idea, as I am always for trying to educate others. Just don't be disappointed if you fail to achieve the desired outcome with this particular group of people. Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: cvrn8@... SalineInfo Cc: Sent: Thursday, May 31, 2001 7:10 PM Subject: TLC Show Does anyone remember the show shown in March on TLC that I had a fit over called "Storm In A D Cup?" Remember I had written several letters (emails) to TLC and encouraged others to do so as well? Well, before I left Denver, I got a letter from England, and couldn't figure out who it was from as there was no return address on it. When I opened it, I was suprised to find that it was from the producer of the show. He explained in the letter that while I'm entitled to my opinion, the "evidence" they presented in the show proves that implants are not linked to connective tissue diseases. He went on to say that implants are a hotly debated issue and he felt that it was his responsibility to present objective data. He stated that he was "so sorry that I have had such horrible health problems" but am "pleased that my health is improving." Then he goes on to say that "although anecdotal evidence and self diagnosis is very important, it does not always paint an accurate picture." He assures me that the studies cited in the program are legitimate studies, from highly qualified scientists (Dr. Marcia Angell, Dr. Su, Dr. Deapen) based at well respected institutions. He goes on to say, "I am afraid since the program was made some time ago, we no longer have copies of all studies readily available." The tone of the whole letter is very condescending and I want to encourage everyone to email him and provide him with your stories and/or info you may want to share. If we can bombard him, especially with the latest studies out, maybe he would consider doing a show from our point of view and using docs that support us and are involved in the latest studies. His name is Durkin, Producer, and his email is tv@.... Please help me out with this and support me and our cause by sending him an email. Thanks!! e
