Guest guest
Long story short: I believe in grassroots movements. The internet is ideal for that. And I believe in a saying of ours: " People vote by their feet. " I go where I can buy the things I need for my health. If they do not have it, I ask them, whether they can order it for me. If they cannot or will not, I say bye-bye with a smile, and go to those who do it for me. Next thing: I talk about where I had my good experiences around here. I hope this comes very close to your idea of spreading the news among those who suffer and want to get better. Wishing a fine day to all of you, Katharina ---- Hi Katharina, You are so very right about grass roots movements and the Internet is a good opportunity for greater numbers of people to work together. It is the same situation here with the media, where the advertisers are the main source of income. To talk about your good experiences with alternative health is very effective, also to write about it on the Internet. Just today my doctor asked me for information because one of the patients at the clinic has intractable seizures. Of course, here she is getting no information about how she can control her seizures without drugs. So the first priority is to direct her to information, such as the web address for the s\Reiter clinic and to the few books now available. Several months ago I saw one of the few neurologists in this town. I told him I did not use drugs and had not had a seizure since July of 1998. Immediately he became defensive and almost antagonistic. " You can't cure epilepsy, " he said with a very negative voice. I informed him that I hadn't " cured " epilepsy, since epilepsy is not even a disease. I just learned ways to stop having seizures that did not involve drugs or surgery. The doctor became very negative, like he was being personally attacked. He immediately wanted to schedule an EEG to " prove " my epilepsy was not " cured. " I didn't bother with the test, needless to say, since EEGs don't prove or disprove seizures. About 15% of the general population will have " abnormal " EEGs even though they have no history of seizures whatsoever. Those who are finding methods to manage or overcome their seizures can make an impact by sharing their experiences with others. Perhaps the most revolutionary actions we can take is to share information and resources with others so they can help themselves. I admire your work and your efforts to help others.
