Guest guest
I note your daughter started to have seizures at 7 months of age. Something changed in her young life. Did she have vaccinations? if so when? Any other changes at that time? She had one and I caught the tail end of it, I thought she was not breathing and called 911. By the time they got there she snapped out of it. Since I didn't see the whole thing and no twitching, I had no idea what it was. I took her to my pediatrician and he told me that she was fine and that things just happen in sleep sometimes. He said to bring her in if there was another problem. AT no point was seizure mentioned nor were any tests done. My husbands grandmother passed away and we went to her visitation a couple days later seeing that she was fine and there was nothing to woory about (per our doctor). My parents called me the day we were due to come back and she had had a seizure at 6am, 7am, 8am and by the time they called me she was at a hospital, the staff saw another seizure at 9am and they put her in the critical care helicopter and sent her to Children's Breckenridge hospital. She had received phenobarb and had another one after that at 10am. We were ont he plane and almost back by thispoint. I have to say the longest plane ride in the history of the world. She received a spinal tap, MRI, cat scan, EEG, numerous blood tests (so many that every vein was blown with the exception of the one in her head which is where she received her last catheter). They said all test were negative and to make this long story a little shorter. She was put on Dylantin. We were told that her EEG had spikes and so she had to be on the med. We later found out this was not the case. She started vomiting it up three weeks ago on a thursday and by saturday she would not keep any of it donw. The Neurologist told us that she would be ok until the following Tuesday. (which means she was off of it thurs, fri, sat, sun, mon, tues and then the tuesday after that so she would be off of it for over a week.) She had a seizure that sunday at 12:15, we gave her the med and then she had one at 3:30 with a follow up to the ER and an up on the dosage. She has been on the med since them and had another seizure this sunday and of course it lasted for what seemed like forever. We have been seeing doctor after docto9r, allergist and there is still no answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I did talk to a Neurologist from New York (his head nurse) and she told me that if all of the tests were negative then it was most likely in her environment. I have a new house and she had mentioned that all new stuff would have the potential of posing a problem. HELP???
