HI Thanks for your message. Yes, I have called Dr. Huang's office. The procedure I am interested in is the DIEP flap. (Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator) flap. It is similar to the free tram flap except that it is totally muscle sparing. I could not with my lifestyle, accept sacrificing part of my ab muscles to rebuild a breast. this is a relatively new procedure, (since 1992) and is not available everywhere. It is microsurgery, but has been very successful I called almost every plastic surgeon in Denver--no one does it there. And I wouldn't want to be a surgeon's first one. So I am seeing some who do this a lot, and where the nursing staff is use to monitoring a flap after surgery. For more info, go to <www.diepflap.com> which is the website of Dr. , the New Orleans dr. who invented this. It is full of info. I have a lot of family and friends in La. ( as I grew up here--I'm there now), so having the surgery out of my present home area is not a huge problem. Anyway, thanks for the info on Dr. Huang. I had heard that she is excellent too. And also thanks for responding. The internet is wonderful. I have gotten SO much info and support from total strangers. It has been immensely helpful. Betty from Grand Junction
