Guest guest
Oddly enough, I gained about twenty pounds over the course of about two years, which didn't seem to fit with my eating patterns. I had no idea I was hyperthyroid. When I went into afibrillation and was diagnosed with Graves' disease, I was started on propylthiouracil. In about ten days, I lost about 15 pounds, so I'm guessing it was water weight. I had RAI on November 15th, and am now six weeks post, and just starting on .075 of Synthroid (or, more likely, the generic). I have not gained back any of the weight, and am at about five pounds over my usual lifetime weight. I am 5'6 " , and weigh 134 today. I prefer not to weigh more than 125, but I'm 61 years old now, so my girlish figure is a thing of the past! I don't know what will happen when I start taking the medication. I am going to try not to gain any weight, as I am pretty happy with the situation the way it is! ;-> Judie Ashford
