Hi Dawn,

You're right. The elevated alk phos and the low WBC can result from the GD,

and your GD probably is still active.

Even though the FT3 is shorter acting than FT4, it's still an important test

to have, especially with your mentioning symptoms of hypo.

Your labs, while normal, are very near the low end. The FT4 is much more

meaningful. The TSH will take 6 weeks or so to reflect what your thyroid

status is now.

Could you be headed toward hypothyroidism again? Another clue is your

elevated cholesterol. It's inversely proportional to your thyroid hormone

status. When I was kept hypo inadvertently, my cholesterol was 250. Back on

the right thyroid meds, it's 180. Our desirable normal cholesterol level in

the states is below 200 mg/dl.

I'd wait on pursuing the white blood count until you're off the thyroid meds

since they're known to lower this level. The diagnostic work-up generally

includes a bone marrow aspiration test, not your everyday blood test.
