" you can lead a horse to water......... " SO " that " is where you are. Hmmmmmm.

You might check out our sister site ithyroid.com. If there is a thyroid problem

it could be because of nutritional deficiencies (not guranteed). But of course,

you would still need labs to know where you are now and where you need to look

for help.

I think a trip to the doc is in order. He has a lot of knowledge about the

different things that could cause your brother's symptoms. Be sure to mention

thyroid as a possibility. Sometimes docs don't think about that first. Good

nutrition is a very good idea also. How can you go wrong? Eating well makes

most people feel good. And knowing what is wrong is a lot easier than

imagining...

For me, T3 and iron really help to clear up the brain fog. Sometimes makes me a

bit short and sharp with my tongue - I feel as if I've been patient for too long

and am fed up sometimes, and that no one really cares. They are all tired of

hearing about it after the first couple of months. But our disease lasts with

us for a long time.

WOW! they listened to you for the first two months? Only two or three people

listened pasted the first week. Luckily those few are still listening.

Heheheheheh.......I figure I am in for the long haul whether I want to be or

not. I might as well try to enjoy it. You really get to where you appreciate

the small things. Like not getting exhausted just because you made the bed or

washed the dishes. LOL!

Have a good one! Or two.....

It is possible to make the bed and not feel exhausted??? Surely you jest...

I remember the endo telling me I needed to 'embrace my disease' and I was just

so angry. I didn't want it and wasn't feeling nice about it...haha...didn't

help.

That is pretty thin. I hope he does go to the doctor. Anxiety is a part ot

thyroid disease. There are many lists of symptoms - here is one link. Read it

to your brother and see what he says, or give it to him.

I think it does get worse as you go along. I watched my resting heart rate go

from 100 to 150 over a period of about 8 months. It just steadily got worse. I

don't know what it was to begin with. Before I saw my doctor I quit smoking and

had been off cigarettes a month, feeling that my doctor wouldn't treat a heart

problem if I still smoked. I had no idea I had a thyroid problem. Your brother

could be into some heart problems if he lets it go. But it could be something

else entirely. We're none of us doctors. If it were me, I'd hustle to get it

looked after.

Re: can hyperthyroidism couse red skin and ugly

my brother says he will see a doctor sometime this summer. does this

get wrose as you get older?
