Hey all, nice to see the posts picking up here. Welcome to all the new ladies searching for answers and support. I'm so happy for you girlfriend....you are making some amazingly giant steps towards improved health. Good for you for kicking this thing right in the teeth and forcing it to subside. I don't mean to ignore anyone here...I think you all are pretty courageous to be heading in the direction you have chosen. Not an easy one is it?

I've been pretty self absorbed lately enjoying my newfound energy, making a wedding dress and dealing with life as it comes up here. Sue finally phoned me on Friday with a surgery date and I'm so scared I forgot to thank her for accommadating my wishes. Because of the stress of the wedding coming up May 26th and with me taking over a new department at work I asked her to try for a surgery date after May 26th and guess what.....she did. May 28th is when I'm due to have these breasts implants removed. I'm more scared than anything but I know that is normal. The date is so far away because the earliest she could have gotten me in was the end of April and since that was too close to the wedding I asked her to book it for afterwards. If I knew exactly how my body was going to react after explant then I could base my decision on that but we know we don't have all the answers. So that is about all the news I have here for now.

Patty your research is very helpful and much appreciated and I have one word of caution for those of us that have not tried grapefruit seed extract.....go slow with it. It is a strong anti fungal that will cause die off symptoms if too much is taken too quickly and since we are all basically struggling with energy levels you need to go slow with this one and any other anitfungal for that matter. Start slowly and when you feel strong enough you can increase your dosage. This much I know from experience. Good luck to all of you and I will pop back in later this week to see how all of you are doing. Take care, Jackie

<<It can and will get better, like any other life changing event, getting

control requires getting educated... I mean its your body no one knows better

than you how you feel. The docs can help alot with managing this disease, you

can help yourself by learning what works for you on a day to day basis, I mean

if taking a hot shower in the morning works, by all means get one in, I find

that the more upset I get the worse the symptoms become. >>

You took the words out of my mouth. Educating yourself about what is going on in

your body can be one of the most important things you will ever do, even if you

are not sick.

The second most important thing you can do is what you mentioned: Keep a

positive attitude and don't allow yourself to be stressed out. My own personal

example with this is that I was starting to get down about being sick because I

was realizing that even after I finish college I will still not be able to

accept a high paying corporate job. Forever I will have to depend on my husband

to get promotions and raises, which puts alot of pressure on him and guilt on

me. I decided I didn't want to depend on him (even though he's willing to do

it), or anyone else and started my own business. It is really taking off and

from the first day I was so excited about being pro-active with my life and

career that I started feeling better. I know that I am not stuck with the

prospect of an extremely low disability income if something happens to my

husband.

So, all of you please decide to eductate yourself, keep a positive attitude and

be pro-active with your life! You can start today.

>Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Dana. I am a 29 year

old mother of 2 girls, and have been married for 8 years now. I just recently

had a terrible incident happen to me the day after my 46 year old brother had a

heart attack and have been dealing with it ever since. My doctor thinks that I

have autoimmune arthritis (RA) and is now sending me to a Rhumatologist(sp?). I

will be honest with everyone and tell you that I am so completely scared out of

my mind. I have been extremely depressed since all of this happened.

Basically, everything started in my feet and has moved to all my joints.

Sometimes the pain is so painful that I just want to die. And sometimes I have

no pain. My doctor has me on a 20 mg predesone(sp?) and it does good sometimes

and then not others. My pain sometimes becomes so bad that I can't walk. The

week that I went to my doctor to find out what it was, I laid in the bed all

week and couldn't move for fear of hurting. My doctor put

> me on Indomethicin(sp?) and I had an allergic reaction to it. So the whole

week, I wanted to just end my life. I went back to my doctor hysterical and

begging him to put me on something to take away the pain.

Hi Dana,

Welcome and I'm so sorry to hear all of the terrible things that have been going

on with you. It sounds as if you really need someone to talk to about this and

really need some support. I would love to talk to you off of the list. Please

email me and we can talk about you and hopefully support each other through our

illnesses.
