yes it does make sense Ashton. I was just wondering about how your hubby was

doing, and realized I'd not seen any posts about him till now.

I did lose weight, in the beginning, but I was sick with a virus so I never put

it with the Graves/hyperT because I was so sick I couldn't keep anything down.

I do know that I did gain some weight, after I started the atd's, but my biggest

weight gain came when I was let to go hypoT, and then I felt equally as bad as I

ever did being hyperT.

I don't remember how long ago it's been since your hubby was diagnosed, but it

sounds like the meds are working for him. The tremors were pretty bad when I

first got diagnosed, so I know that once those were relieved, I did feel a tad

bit better. After almost two yrs now, I feel better than I ever have. I've

actually been able to function in an almost normal capacity and it's been really

nice. Has your hubby had any meds decreases? This is very important so that

he's not allowed to go hypoT which will only make him feel ill again.

Question about Weight Gain

Hi again,

Hubby is concerned, as he has gained 11 pounds back since the AntiT

med was started. Is this something that does happen, and is it a

good or bad sign?

He does look so much better, and says he feels better too. Says the

tremors are almost all gone, the weakness is gone and he just feels

better in general.

His skin doesn't feel clammy and loose anymore, his eyes don't look

bulgy and glaring anymore, his cheeks don't look sunken, which might

be the weight gain.

We don't know if his goiter is smaller, but it doesn't look bigger.

I think he looks so much better. It is hard to describe how he

looked, like he was wearing someone else's skin who was a bigger guy

than he was. Now, he looks like his skin fits him better. Does

this make sense?

Thanks,

Ashton

Hi Sandy,

No he has not had any decreases in meds, he has only been on them

for 6 weeks, or a little over that. Is it too soon to have a drop in

meds yet?

Thanks,

Ashton

normally at 6-8 weeks it's about time for the dr to test the FT3 and FT4 and

adjust (slightly) is my understanding. What does is he on, and when is his next

appt? Your #'s from earlier were showing TSH and T4.

Elaine I replied to your first message.. :)

I am new to the board and new to Lexapro. I've been on it for a week

and do feel better. I am on 10mg once a day. I take it in the

morning that seems to work for me.

I've read some horror stories about weight gain on this drug. Can

people share with me their experience with that? One reason I am

depressed is because of weight gain!

The other thing, is if I decide now to stop taking this drug, and I've

also heard the withdrawal horror stories, should 1 week on 10 mg

really cause withdrawal?

Thanks!
