Guest guest
Hi Zoey, I haven't heard anything bad about any of these. In fact, I take glutamine to reduce sugar cravings and heal my stomach, and I've taken St. 's Wort for hypo depression and it worked well. I'm not sure about the other amino acid. Maybe knows. Hope you're feeling better these days, Elaine
Guest guest
Yes, glutamine and chromium reduce my sugar cravings. When I neglect to take it for a while, I eat brown sugar right from the bag.
Guest guest
Hi Elaine, I was wondering whether you (or anyone) have any information on the effects of the following on the thyroid and HyperT: St. 's Wart DLPA (amino acid) L-Glutamine (amino acid) I'm looking for a little dopamine boost but don't want to damage my thyroid. Perhaps you have some other suggestions. Thanks, Zoey
Guest guest
Zoey, oh yeah, phenylalanine. I used to take that too. (i try everything). You need to take it on an empty stomach for best absorption. I always had trouble complying so can't say if it really worked for me.
Guest guest
Does the glutamine really reduce the sugar cravings? I got those really bad. I try willpower but that doesn't help at all. ____________NetZero Free Internet Access and Email_________ Download Now http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html Request a CDROM 1-800-333-3633 ___________________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Elaine, L-Glutamine has always been one of my special treasures for sugar cravings. I think it works better than chromium which I also take. DLPA stands for DL-Phenylalamine and is a free form amino-acid. When/if I have time I may look it up again. I believe it is a quasi dopamine(good energy) enhancer. Perhaps we can both do a search. I hope you are feeling well and better. Is having your book completed a big relief? I am looking forward to reading it and possible meeting you if you 'book tour'. Perhaps we could have an ithyroid/eGroups gathering in Southern Calif. I believe , Mona, , and many others live around there. Think about it. For those that don't know about L-Glutamine, I take anywhere from 2 to 3 500 mg capsules one to three times a day. Sort of play it by ear and feel. As with every thing, I always start and end things slow and gradual. Like one capsule a day for a couple days. Then, if no problems, 2 capsules for a couple days and so on and so forth. Good luck and best wishes to all, Zoey
Guest guest
Zoey, thanks I hadn't thought about taking glutamine on an empty stomach. I'll give it a try.
Guest guest
Elaine, I believe that it's best to take both L-Glutamine and DLPA on an empty stomach. I generally cheat a bit and take them on an " almost empty " stomach. They still seem to work. Zoey
