Aunt Joan, My daughter (after being on tapazole for a yr. and off for a few

months and going hyper again) is on tapazole again and has for a few months

now found that her heart seems to slow, stop and skip a beat and when it

returns comes in a big pounding feeling - this happens for a few minutes and

then returns to normal. Our doctor on examining her said she's basically

fine and this may just be how her heart is. The human body is beyond

explaining sometimes and I do accept this. However, has anyone else

experienced this? I'm wondering if she damaged her heart when going hyper

again and continuing her whirlwind college lifestyle instead of taking it

easy. (I think its nearly impossible to take it easy when your feeling pent

up enegy.) Any response to these questions?

Since the is through to the group I guess anyone can answer.

You might research PreVentricular Contractions.

You could go to a secialist and he might have her wear a halter monitor for a

day or so to see what's going on.

My vote is for your doctor...that she is fine and that's just how her heart

is.

Elaine,

I have also noticed some strange sensations with my heart. I used to think that

it skipped a beat now I'm more inclined to say that the power of the beat

changes through out the day. At times my heart beat is barely detectable and at

other times I can take my pulse by watching my hair on my head move (seriously).

After monitoring it for a week or so it appears that certain foods and

supplements increase my pulse either in strength or number of beats per minute,

while other decrease the pulse in strength and/or beats per minute. I'm working

on eliminating the things that raise my heart beat and can pass on a method from

my Naturopath for determining this.

In hopes of great health for all,

Ann

Dear Elaine,

Anything with the heart, I would see a specialist. This doesn't sound

" normal " to me (although I'm sure it's nothing serious), and I would get it

checked out, either by an alternative practitioner, or by a specialist.

Good luck,

AntJoan

I may be wrong on this, but I don't believe the problem is (directly) with her

heart, but rather with the vagas nerve. This can cause some of the symptoms you

describe. Happens to me sometimes.

Me.
