Guest guest
Hi Kathleen,I did skim over the guide and remember reading that there are detox symptoms, but I never encountered a list of detox symptoms. I'll read it again as I must have overlooked it or zoned out. Thank you for your response. And I do appreciate the time and effort given to helping others.Sincerely,KateOn Feb 7, 2012, at 5:01 PM, Kathleen Blake wrote: Hi Kate, Did you read the Guide to Supplementing with Iodine that you were sent when you joined? If you didn’t save it, then please go to Files, then New Members Read First, then scroll down to The Guide to Supplementing with Iodine. A lot of time and energy has gone into that Guide, and you will learn much there. You will read how important it is to take the companion nutrients and why/how they work with iodine. You will also read about the Salt Loading Protocol which is very helpful in dealing with detox symptoms, which is what you are experiencing. Again, read as much as you can in that Guide, and then feel free to ask questions. We are here to help! Kind regards, -Kathleen moderator Iodine Group I Feel Awful I've been taking 2 drops of 5% Lugol's solution with 1/4 tsp of Real Salt in a glass of warm water in the morning and in the afternoon. At night, I take 1/4 - 1/2 tsp of Natural Calm. I've been doing this for about two weeks. I feel awful. I have no energy and my nose is constantly dripping without any sinus congestion. I don't know if I have a winter bug or if I'm doing something terribly wrong. I started the Lugol's, not to treat any ailments, but to develop optimum health. I haven't taken any of the other supplements listed in the protocol because I loathe taking supplements let alone medications. Will the supplementing I'm doing now make me feel this way initially or have I caught a bug? I thought I would continue this for a month or more before making any conclusions, good or bad, but I can't take this anymore.Sincerely,Kate

Guest guest
These are detox symptoms. Drop back to 1 drop each time and soak with the smaller dose, let your body acclimate before moving the dose up again. You really need the other companion nutrients to help your body optimize the iodine and deal with the detox symtoms better. But the fact that you are having such strong detox symptoms on such a low dose indicates that you have a VERY HIGH bromide toxic burden. You need to do this, for sure. -- moderator On 7 Feb 2012 at 20:55, Kate beth Whitley wrote: > I've been taking 2 drops of 5% Lugol's solution with 1/4 tsp of Real > Salt in a glass of warm water in the morning and in the afternoon. Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, , ,I re-read the Guide to Supplementing with Iodine and now I remember reading the list of detox symptoms. I have felt so awful lately that I didn't remember reading it. I have definitely developed several of the symptoms. I was shocked just now when I re-read the list. So, I will reduce the dosage to 1 drop with ¼ tsp of Real Salt in a glass of water in the morning and in the afternoon, continue the Natural Calm, and add Selenium and Vitamin C. I look forward to feeling better soon. Thank you for your responses.Sincerely,Kate On Feb 7, 2012, at 7:29 PM, Baker wrote: These are detox symptoms. Guest guest
Hi Kate, Remember you can liberally use the unrefined sea salt throughout the day on your food as well. If your symptoms get really bad, you can also do the Salt Loading Protocol. Hope you are feeling better soon! Guest guest
That just means to leave your dose where it is, and let your body get used to it (as opposed to raising the dose). --V On 7 Feb 2012 at 20:56, Kate Whitley wrote: > > > > Hi again, > > I forgot to ask: What does " soak " mean? > > Sincerely, > Kate > > On Feb 7, 2012, at 7:29 PM, Baker wrote: > > > These are detox symptoms.
