Guest guest
Pilgrim, Yes, I think your blood type is rare. I have a book that my mother gave me.... Its called " Eat Right for Your Type - 4 blood types, 4 diets " The Individualized Diet Solution to staying healthy, Living Longer and Achieving you Ideal weight. By Dr. J. D'Adamo with Whitney. In the book, most commonly in type O that people have thyroid problems. It is interesting. I haven't read through the book yet... I have skimmed thru and my mother have pointed those highlights what she had found in the book that applies to her. I wondered if anyone else in the group are mostly type O. I am type O. I would recommend this book if anyone is interested in reading this book. Guest guest
KOZY, I am a type O. I also OWN that book. I just have never really read it! Maybe I should. I just know that Os have to eat a lot of meat and I don't care as much about meat as I do about fruits and veggies. Though I am NOT a Vegetarian. Am I wrong? Don't Os have to eat tons of meat and very little veggies and fruits? LOL guess I should go to my bookshelf and look it up! --kathleen In a message dated 5/11/99 2:36:41 AM Eastern Daylight Time, KTenn36117@... writes: << Pilgrim, Yes, I think your blood type is rare. Guest guest
Hello all, Intersting theory about blood types. But isn't it true that a good majority of people have O type blood? I would think you would actually have to compare the percentage of individuals in each type group to see if a difference exists. Guest guest
Hi Kozy and everyone: I have A+ blood type with thyroid problems, heart problems and gynecological problems. Surgery helped all three, but there is now another problem that needs to be looked at. I may as well have an entire over haul of my body. LOL Anyway, I had wondered why I have so many health problems as well as my sister as brother. We are all sick people. The answer that I could come up with had to do with the blood type thing. My father was O+ and my mother is A-. The combination of the two was not good in procreation unless there was the injection of Rh(D) immune globulin given. This injection into mother 72 hours od delivery prevents 99 percent of Rh sensitization. If the injection is not given, the newborn has a chance of getting hemolytic disease which manifests itself in jaundice and other health related problems. My sister was born in the 40's, brother in the 50's and I was born in 60. There was no such thing as these Rh immune globulin injections. They were not introduced until the 1970's. If a blood transfusion was not given, the child could be susceptible to all kinds of problems. The one I mentioned is hemolytic disease which is destruction of red blood cells resulting in anemia and if the bilirubin in the blood skyrockets, a serious condition called kernicterus which is a form of brain damage can result. The only time any of these conditons can apply is if one of your parents has a blood type of + and the other has a blood type - factor. The fetus/ baby must have a + blood type in order for any of these conditions to be a possibility. This formula directly applies to me and my brother and sister. It is a possible explanation to all the health problems we are going through. I think it has alot to do with it or we would not all be sick. Of course, with hemolytic blood disease or anemia can present a host of problems and weaken the immune system. It would not surprise me if the thyroid is connected to this whole blood rh thing (for me that is). ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
kathleen, No, you're not wrong. I know someone told me that we type 0 have to eat more meat (more protein) and veggies.... but a little fruit. I'm not a vegetable eater either... but I am learning to eat them. They make me feel a lot better. I am finding out lately that I don't digest bread very well..... so I am trying not to eat so much bread. I love eating breads though. Oh well. Guest guest
Hello All! Think what started this list was my query about diets and blood types. Also stated that I was an AB negative. Well, come to find out, I read a test result all wrong. Now I don't know *what* type I am. Oh well. Will find out next doctor's visit. pilgrim Ccherblady@... wrote: > I am blood type A+ and am suppose to be the best type to be a vegetarian, but > I am not anywhere near being one. Guest guest
, and everyone --- I am blood type A+, also, am hypo-t, and have been eating a whole lot of poultry and fish the past few years --- nearly half a pound a day! Anyhow, it's occurred to me to cut back on the protein (especially after glancing through the " blood type " book and noting that it's certainly correct about my other food intolerances --- for instance, nightshade veggies don't agree with me). Then, after reading through " Prescription for Nutritional Healing " , I happened to notice that the symptoms for acidosis (an overly acidic body) are strikingly like hypothyroidism, while the symptoms for alkalosis (an overly alkaline body) are much like those for hyperthyroidism! I wonder if there's a connection? I purchased some litmus paper, have been testing my urine, and I definitely am acidic. Since animal protein and grains are acidic, while fresh vegetables and fruit are alkaline, this would make sense, since I eat mostly the former. Years ago, when I ate lots of fruit and veggies, along with less protein, my symptoms were along the lines of hyperthyroidism. What do you think? >I am blood type A+ and am suppose to be the best type to be a vegetarian, but > I am not anywhere near being one.
