Patty have you tried juicing?

You betcha! I am on my third juicer in fact.

I used the Juiceman for a long time, and juiced everything in sight. The Juiceman actually made juicing fun and somewhat enjoyable, but it can be a pain in the butt sometimes, too, having to clean the machine. I drank so much carrot juice after explant that the skin on my hands turned orange from the carotenes.

I just got a Green Life Juicer a few months ago, based on a report I saw about the quality of juices from the various juicers on the market. I was ready to buy a new juicer anyway, because we wanted to juice wheatgrass. We still have the Juiceman, and my husband actually prefers it to the Green Life, but the difference between a centrifugal juicer and a crushing juicer is pretty dramatic--even to the point of making a difference between healing from cancer or NOT through juicing therapy.

The difference is that a centrifugal juicer exposes the juice to much more oxygen on contact with air, thereby oxidizing the juice at a faster rate than a crushing or masticating type of juicer. This degrades the enzymes faster as well. So, in the end, the quality of the juice just isn't as good from a Juiceman or other centrifugal juicer than a Green Life, or a Champion type of juicer.

That isn't to say that a Juiceman is bad.....some juice is better than no juice, for sure! The Juiceman is actually much easier to clean, and unfortunately, we have found in our family that we are not drinking as much juice as we used to, because it is more work to use the Green Life. So, in the end, the Juiceman may be better anyway, just based on the fact that you may get more juice in you in the long run!

So, yes, we are a juicing family......we even grow our own sprouts and wheatgrass, and it is a fun project for the kids.

(sorry to be so longwinded there....)

Patty
