Guest guest
Hi I've heard of this and in the practice of yoga the shoulder stand (an inverted position) is recommended for maintaining and restoring thyroid health. It increases the blood circulation to that area as would standing on your head. While actual standing on your head is difficult there are apparati designed to help you hold an inverted position. Many people believe in the therapeutic value of this practice. A yoga teacher I know has a friend who overcame a thyroid problem (not sure which problem) by using the shoulder stand and other postures designed for her by a yoga master. I've practiced yoga on and off through the years and when I had hyperthyroidism I tried doing the shoulder stand. I was uncomfortable because I was sick and didn't give it a fair chance, but I didn't feel any immediate benefits afterward. I do, however, recommend it, since it would seem to help by increasing the blood flow. Yogis have been doing it for over 2000 years--it has to have benefits. Concentration is another technique that has benefits. When I studied psychology there were people studying the mental control of autonomic responses such as sending blood to a specific area of the body. Increased blood flow is important for healing any part of the body. I think you should try anything and everything that might help. The reason I have concentrated on copper and the other minerals is because I felt immediate and repeated benefits from taking it and I recovered completely in only 3 months without doing anything else. I would say to do everything you can. ______________________________________________________________________
