Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, I am so sorry to hear about your niece's condition. It pains me to hear her symptoms. She has to take immediate steps to heal. She was given radioactive iodine, which concentrates in the thyroid and destroys many of the cells there. She needs to consume alot of iodine now so that her body will replace the radioactive iodine there now with non- radioactive iodine. Lots of kelp (20 tablets a day) will help. She obviously has been in poor health for years, so she needs to supplement with a complete vitamin and mineral and trace mineral supplements as described in other posts. And very importantly, she needs to eat alot of seafood. She needs the protein to rebuild and gain weight and she needs all the trace minerals in the seafood. If her thyroid is really low then she needs to get to a doctor who will get her Armour thyroid hormone. You have to have hormone, and if your body can't make it you have to supplement. Perhaps eventually her thyroid will recover, but that's way down the road. She needs to get her hormone levels normal first. She absolutely has to get all the essential vitamins and minerals now. It takes a while to rebuild, but with the nutrients her body can stop deteriorating immediately and that's very important. Without all the 90 essential nutrients, her body can't get started to heal. Seafoods, salads, fruits!! The raw foods will provide the vitamins and the seafood will provide the protein and minerals. The supplements will help rebuild her depleted stores. Please do everything you can. Speed is important now to avoid life-long problems! Whatever I can do to help I will.
