Guest guest
Hi and everyone, A 12 ounce beer has .3 mg of copper and can be an important source of copper for people who don't take supplements or eat much seafood. I looked up non- alcoholic beer to see if it has copper, but it's not listed so I'll guess that it would have the same copper content. I don't recommend beer as a way to get all of your copper, however. I think it's important to know that beer has copper (and B vitamins) and that if you're craving beer you may well be craving the B vitamins and the copper. I would recommend taking a B-complex and a copper supplement and think this is healthier than drinking a six-pack of beer a day. An occassional beer, alcoholic or non, is probably a good idea, but alot of beer will fill you up and keep you from eating more nutritious food. I think your girlfriend needs to take a multiple vitamin and mineral and a trace mineral supplement and make sure that she's getting everything she needs. A diet of vegetables, salads, a little fruit, and seafood will go a long way toward restoring her mineral levels and health. When you first start taking minerals. particularly magnesium, you can get diarhea. I was taking so much cal/mag when I had hyperthyroidism that I had diarhea all the time for months. It was uncomfortable and an inconvenience but it was certainly preferable to having my heart race, and eventually it went away. Be happy when those things happen because it means indicates a cleaning out process of the colon which will eventually lead to better digestion and health. ______________________________________________________________________
