Guest guest
Hi and everyone! It's been an exciting morning for me. I've been talking to several group members via IMs and people are improving but some are reluctant to tell everyone yet--they want to make sure it lasts. I think we're going to have some great stories over the next couple of weeks. The pots that I've seen are stainless steel with copper on the outside of the bottom so no copper is going to get into your food from that. Since is hypo, the 2 mg of copper she is taking is fine for now. When she is over the hypo then 4 mg would be good for maintenance. The 50 mg of zinc also seems good (see Kathleen's story-she was taking 50 mg), although you could try 100 mg if you want. The 640 mg of kelp is probably equivalent to 3 tablets. I would recommend increasing this to about 3 times as much, but gradually. I am concerned about the Spectra 303-T, however. I am pretty sure this isn't necessary for recovery, but I am concerned that it may impede recovery. The iodine, zinc, and copper are fine we know, but the other ingredients may have unknown effects which may act to impede the thyroid's recovery. The L- Tyrosine is a thyroid hormone pre-cursor and the thyroid tissue probably contains thyroid hormone. I would think that these substances would cause the thyroid to reduce output rather that increase it. It looks like Kathleen (BHthkath) is recovering (or has recovered) from hypothyroidism and she wasn't taking any supplement like that. Try not taking it for awhile and we'll see what happens. It's a good sign if you feel your heartbeat after taking the minerals because that indicates that your thyroid is giving out a little burst of extra thyroid hormone. Hopefully those bursts will increase and it will kick in. Just be aware that recovery from hypo usually is sudden and not gradual. When the thyroid kicks in you'll get hot, sweaty, and racing heart. Don't panic. Discontinuing the replacement hormone will normalize things fairly quickly. Have a great trip! Just remember your thyroid could start working at any moment and you might think it's just the excitement of being in the Big City! ______________________________________________________________________
