Hi Kathleen and everyone,

A short discussion about eating seafood while standing on your head....

Oops--maybe we'd better separate the two!

Getting your head lower than your body is the aim, so hanging your head off

the bed or laying on a slant board will do that. The shoulder stand is easier

than standing on your head and you could go to a yoga class and ask the

teacher to include the shoulder stand that day. It's better for the thyroid

because in addition to the increased blood flow, the thyroid gland is squeezed

between the chin and the chest and is stimulated by that compression. Just

lay on your back and place your hands on your hips (and under) for support.

Slowly swing one then both feet up above you--it gets easier with practice.

Support your hips with your hands and try to get your legs straight above you.

Practice makes your posture better and improves the benefits, but anyone can

get started and receive benefits.
