Pizza often makes me ill...nauseous with stomach cramps. For awhile I thought

it was because some restaurants don't use real cheese. But the past few years

I seem to often have a negative reaction to milk and some dairy products. I

do OK with yogurt and certain cheeses, but notice that milk in my breakfast

cereal leaves me feeling yucky.

Re: being hyper and hypo. I have heard of people with Hashimoto's commonly

having symptoms associated with both hypo and hyper. And I have read that

some endocrinologists (especially in Japan) have experimented with patients

taking Synthroid and Tapazol simultaneously with good results.

Also, even though I am in remission, I no not feel well when I do aerobic

exercises...I do fine with weight bearing exercises at the gym, but don't feel

well after doing more than 5-10 minutes on the treadmill. I can walk long

distances, however, so I'm not quite sure what the problem is. Anyone else

experience problems with aerobic exercises? P.S. I've had my heart checked

out, and I'm in good shape..also have very good blood pressure.

Esther

If you are hyper, I hope you have given up caffinated coffee. I no longer can

handle caffeine..it makes me jittery, (before becoming hyper I could drink

espresso coffee drinks with no problems).

Esther:

I can relate to you with the dairy situation. I switched to Soy Milk for my

cereal thinking I was helping myself with not having milk with my cereal. It

backfired on me and I decided to go away from milk (soymilk) and cereal

altogether. Yogurt is ok for me too. I don't push it much though. When I have

some, I put about two teaspoons in a custard cup. I heap up with 1/2 banana,

red grapes, raisins and wheat germ. That seems to help alot. However,

sometimes I get sleepy.

As far as the exercising is concened, I stay on my 2 to 2.5 mile walking

regimine. Aerobic exercise does not work for me. I want to try riding my bike

again though. I was reading a book called " Eat Right For Your Type. " This Dr

talks about foods and exercise that correspond with blood type. For instance,

I am A+.. People in my blood type do best with walking, swimming, biking and

meditation. We do not do well with heavy foods. Pork, Red meat and many other

foods are hard to digest for our blood type. You know, he has an excellent

point. We don't do well with dairy products either because of their digestion

process. It sure makes sense to me. As far as the pizza is concerned, just

think how many different ingredients you are getting in bite. Not too many

foods are like that. Listen to your body. If coffee was ok and it is no longer

ok, it must mean that your body does not want it. This thyroid disease is very

strange in that what was good before is not good any longer. There are alot of

foods I need to stay away from at this time as they set me off.

Get yourself in shape with the minerals and see what happens. Take care.

Hi Esther - Your situation is interesting. I take walks for exercise as well,

and have done both using a treadmill and walking outdoors, normally with no

problems either way. I gave up gyms, however, when I noticed I was feeling a

bit claustrophic when it was busy, which was really an odd feeling. As far as

using milk and cheese products - have you tried using low-fat products. I

can't seem to handle whole milk, etc. as it makes me feel queasy.

Yo
