Guest guest
Dear all, Yesterday was the deadline for the state of North Carolina to appeal the decision made by the judge on October 28th that they must reemberse us for the expenses of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for our children. Our attorney just notified me that the Asst. DA for the state called to say that they have not appealed. The state will be reembersing us for those expenses last spring. Praise God! This is not just a victory for us in the short term of finances. This judge's decision that now stands will aid so many other children who can benefit from this treatment, and will also aid us in further treatments needed for the children. Our neurologist has already submitted a new request for more treatment, and is waiting for the state to give consent for coverage. If by chance the state should decide to deny coverage, we have already proven the need, and it should be a quick and simple hearing with the judge. We are praying, of course, that this won't even be necessary. We pray that the state will agree to coverage based on the medical necessity already established, and hope to begin the next set of treatments in the early part of January. I can't thank everyone enough for their prayers and encouragement and support over the past couple of years in dealing with this issue among others with the children's health. I hope this will also open the door to some other treatments that we have found extremely benefitial for the kids as far as state coverage goes. As most of you are aware, the out of pocket expense for these medical treatments quickly adds up and is very difficult for our family. Let's continue to pray that the state will cover those things which we have found are so essential to the improvement of their health. Thank you all so much.
