Guest guest
Hi, I am the owner of The Rose Center, and my self and staff handled all the necessary procedures. YOU DO NOT take a child out of the chamber until the seizure stops, this can cause trapping of air in the lungs. I am a CHT and EMT properly trained and realize you think I should have taken Zak out quicker as a Mom, but that is a big No No. There was allot to do to keep Zak as safe as possible, checking breathing, switching to air and much more that you may not realize we were doing. I was speaking to your husband and explaining all of it while he was in the chamber taking care of all three of your children., including NOT calling an ambulance. Our policies and procedures are in place, if we were to call an ambulance you would have been waiting for an EMT, which I am, as well as your husband is, he seemed to understand all of it. The hospital is 2-3 minutes driving time from my center, I went with you to the hospital keeping a close watch over Zakary. Checking his vitals including his lungs were necessary, his lungs were clear and we needed to know that. An ambulance would have taken much longer to get to the center, we have 911 in place, it was my call to drive. I have gone to centers myself with my own daughter with no hospitals near by, when we opened 3 years ago we purposely wanted a place very close to a hospital, for this reason. Zakary is the ONLY child in three years who has had a seizure at my center. I stand by my decisions on how we proceeded, we could not have done anything more properly for Zak. Dawn I am sorry you feel we didn't handle it properly, we were concentrating on Zak and your other children. Having loved ones in the room while taking care of of an emergency is the last thing a professional is looking to do. So parents going for HBOT, I have said it before, find out if there is a hospital near by where you go for HBOT. Very rare does a seizure occur, but it can.
