Guest guest
Hi all, I've read many posts and many articles regarding HBO Therapy for CP and autism and other neurological disorders, but I was wondering if HBOT would work for viral encephalitis. My 9 month old son was diagnosed with viral encephalitis 5 weeks ago and I'm doing research on different types of alternative therapy to see which would work best for him. Currently he's receiving scalp acupuncture 3 times a week, so far we see some improvements from the treatment but not sure if HBOT would be something for him. Can you give me some advice please? Thank you. t.
Guest guest
Hello, Encephalitis is a common cause of neurological injury. As such, HBOT should be considered as therapy, and in fact the earlier the better. This is supported both by theory (ischemic penumbra/idling neurons) and the clinical results that are seen in many patients. Your son should be treated with HBOT as soon as possible. Best regards, V. Guest guest
If you have the ability to place your son in an HBOT program I would strongly recommend it..as soon as possible. We find that although HBOT has been proven to exhibit positive results several months and even years following the initial insult, the sooner the patient has exposure to HBOT the sooner the patient has the opportunity to repair the damage that was done. Simply put.. " If you can, you should " ! Guest guest
Hi all, my name is Kay and I am a new member. I had a TKR 4 years ago. I had a bone removed from the base of my left thumb 3 years ago. Both of these were because of OA. I now need wrist replacements...my left one much worse than the right. Has anyone else in the group had a wrist replacement? I would love to talk with someone who has been through it. Thanks, Kay
