Guest guest
We are home and it was confirmed she had colitis. They did decide it was because she had taken Biaxin for 12 day's and it caused the good flora to be killed off. We are giving her acidophlus and she is taking Flagile for 5 day's. She is doing great and is much better. This has started a whole new outreach for me. I have now started looking at side affects of antibiotics and other medications before she ever gets it. I had done that in the past but I knda slacked off. But guy's remember the moist important thing when giving antibiotics is to replenish the good Flora with like acidophlus. Guest guest
Glad to hear you are home, Donna. Hospitals suck, most of the time....but I guess I don't have to tell you that after the experience you've had. Take care of your patient and update us when you can. Kathy mom to 4-1/2 poly JRA, ulcerative colitis and uevitis we are home After another crazy and not so great start to our day we are home! went to Kosair for his PIC line but like everything else it did not go well. They finally got him sedated and made an effort to get the pic line in. It did get in but after the xray for placement, it had to be moved, not once but twice. So 3 attempts and it was in with only one fear being it had gotten to close to his heart but luckily all that had to be done was it had to be pulled back a second time. Talk about a traumatic time we have had!!! BUT we are home and?he is looking better but needs to get some weight on. he has lost 17 lbs! off to do nurse duty...
