Guest guest
Ooh...I was planning on having a hamburger for dinner. That sounds like a great way to season it. From my understanding, the only " milk " that is okay is soy or rice milk (and maybe goat's milk?). They taste too sweet to me, but I suppose they grow on you. The local Drug Emporium here has a small health food store within it which is much cheaper than the other health food stores (and carries sweet potato chips). If you have one in your town, you might want to check it out. Challenge > > > Good morning, > > I went to my local supermarket/health food store last night to stock > up on " O " items. Guest guest
Hi I buy the hulled millet from the health food shop and cook that up. 1cup of water to 1/4 cup millet. It turns out like a porridge. Make sure you get the hulled millet and not the unhulled millet as it is like eating little rocks. Also buckwheat can be made into a porridge as well. Guest guest
Hi everyone. I bought some cashew butter and ate the whole lot and became stuffed up in the sinusus and a runny nose. Peanuts do the same to me. I didn't realise we couldn't eat cashews until that happened and I read the book to verify. See what it does to you if you want to have it. Guest guest
Hi again. I will try the meatloaf. I prefer the almond milk as well and the almond butter. I use the almond butter when I am snacking as it is a pretein and helps to stop eating too much carbo. Can't help you on the tea as I have never heard of it, is it a herb. Guest guest
Hi Sari, Your lucky so enjoy it. Sometimes I get a bit fed up with being so sensetative and start eating or drinking the things I react too but I am becoming more accepting of myself and not caring what others think anymore especially if I am in a restaurant. I just don't want to be sick anymore. I slice them thinly and round, use to make them for the kids when they were younger. Guest guest
We can keep track of our own weight. I wouldn't ask everyone to post their weight online!! Back in 1998, we did a challenge when Max was still around. We did only Highly Beneficials!! Not even any Beneficials. I thought that was rather strict. I did it though. And...I had energy like I had never had before. It was almost like a high. I'm willing to do what everyone else does. We need to hear from a few more people. As soon as we get at least four people lets set a date and post what we eat each day during the challenge. Let's remember health benefits are most important, weight loss is secondary. We can let each other know if we did lose weight at the end of the 3 weeks. Let me know your thoughts on this. Guest guest
That's right!! We can each have our individual goals. I'm going to start menu planning now. And I am also doing some practise meals as well. Tonight I had sweet potato, a small steak and romaine salad. I'm well satisfied too. For breakfast, I am planning to have cereal, probably oats and fruit. My biggest problem is going to be coffee. I love it. So I will have to substitute with green tea. I need the caffeine or I will get caffeine headaches. I usually only allow myself one cup of coffee in the morning. We won't discuss the size of the cup. If you all discuss your meals on here, it will help us have new ideas for ourselves. Thanks so much, Irene!!! Now we have 4 people. I'm really getting excited. I still miss Max. We actually got pretty close and talked on the phone several times. He was a sweetie. I'm sure the ER4YT diet prolonged his life. At one time he couldn't walk across the room without almost fainting and he got to the point on the ER diet that he was able to walk around outside. I know many of you remember Max. He had a great sense of humor and a calming effect on the group. Guest guest
October is great! But I am going to start getting the wheels in motion now, to get in the right mind set! We don't have to post weight... but it might be helpful to keep a personal tracking sheet. If we post our successes/challenges it may be helpful to the others for inspiration and/or empathy! Good idea to start figuring meal plans! Les
Guest guest
I suggest just posting any weight loss weekly. Total lost without an actual weight for those who are sensitive about it. I'm getting started too. Rethinking what I did last time that was so successful. I just remember the huge burst of energy I got after the first week!!! Good luck to us. I've been ill with pneumonia and am having an exhausting time trying to come right so I am looking at a " health building " type challenge in more than one way. (I have cushings syndrome so no immune system; infections take forever to come right for me) So far, due to lack of energy, I have found that a handful of fresh nuts is a great quick and easy snack meal. And a couple microwave-scrambled eggs takes 60 seconds (with a cheat of havarti cheese added and curry powder) for another easy protein boost. My third trick is to make a lot of good soup base, and add different protiens/spices to each serving. My base: Organic low sodium red pepper and tomato soup (bought) plus lots of chopped dandelions, chopped green onions, and finely chopped garlic, and some egg-rice noodles I found at the HF store. One serving I added a can of herring (organic no sodium added) Another I added Kobe beef and hot curry powder. Next one I used lamb chop pieces, thyme and oregano. Looking forward to new ideas here.
