Guest guest
Several NFL teams have hyperbaric chambers. I've been in touch with the pr man of one team and discussed the possibility of offering HBOT to brain-injured children during the off-season to (1) draw attention to the efficacy of HBOT for pediatric brain-injury, (2) draw attention to the plight of parents who are seeking extra oxygen for their hurt kids, (3) bring attention to the shortcomings of pediatric neurology in providing true help to our children, and (4) generate some good pr for this NFL team and possibly other NFL teams as well. Please lift this opportunity in prayer that this will succeed. Thank you very much and God bless. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ " For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Guest guest
Dear Ed: About 4 years ago I called a number of the NFL teams thinking it would cut short their down time after injuries, bone, skin and muscle repair. I talked with 3 or 4 of the trainers and found that 4 of the teams had tried HBOT, but the players had not wanted to spend time in the chamber plus some didn't like the idea of being closed in, but one of the teams still had the chamberand regrettably i don't recall which team, and i talked to one trainer who still thought it was a good idea. My thinking was it would give HBOT instant acceptance if the NFL teams used it. One of the Redskins guards of last year had a daughter who benefited from HBOT and this story appeared in the Washington Times. I fully intended to contact this player while still had the Clinic, but time ran out before could call him. Perhaps you could find out which players have their own chambers and how they are being used. Mansion

My thought is that any ideas we may have to circumvent influence against our cause should be done by private emails and spread the ideas and info that way. Guest guest
Interesting note: We treated a high school basket ball player who fractured (hairline) his ankle while practicing. We immediately gave him treatments for a week. By the following Tuesday he was out of the cast and a week later was back on the team. The doctor had said he would be benched for the entire season. Guest guest
I had not thought of this perspective before. Good job! I am a former NFL player - 7 year veteran. As you know, , my son Ben has had about 110 HBOT treatments and benefited greatly. We are ready to embark on another series of 80-100 very soon. We are in the process of suing SD Medicaid in Circuit Court. All of the briefs have been filed and the judge's decision should be forthcoming in the next 30 days. Let me know if I can be of any help with the NFL. Neil [ ] The NFL and HBOT Several NFL teams have hyperbaric chambers. Guest guest
Ed, Now that you mention I do recall the hockey teams did find less energy in the articles. Time permitting I will look up the Redskin guard whose daughter benefitted ftom HBOT. It was not focussed on that but the player mentioned it which was even more persuasive. Talked with Dr. Harch this AM and he thinks foot diabetes therapy may open the Medicare and Medicaid doors for acceptance of HBOT for reimbursement.. Guest guest
Someone mentioned something about a player that had broken and ankle and was out of the cast in a week due to hbot. Does anyone know who this was or what team or some kind of information? I was telling the lady at the newspaper about it and she would like to get some more information. mommy to , & Spencer, wife to Mike and supplier of kitchen tools and good cheer to ALL! Guest guest
, Good points. I would love to get a copy of that article. HBOT has been used by several pro-hockey teams for injuries. However, they found that when they used HBOT before their home games they had a worse win/loss record. Why? Because HBOT causes increased cellular metabolism, and the athletes would burn up their glycogen stores before the game, and thus be metabolically operating on fat metabolism which supports slower reactions and less strength. Superficially, the results are just the opposite that one would think. But, in reality, it is exactly correct - sports stars should avoid HBOT just before competition. Guest guest
, It was a 10th grader at a local high school. It was not a professional so I doubt if news coverage would be appropriate. Several years ago I treated someone who had a non healing bone of 2 years duration. Over the 2 years he had several x-rays confirming that it was not healing. He came to our center as a last resort and after 2 weeks it had healed. When he want back to the doctors their comment was " Oh well it would have healed anyway. " Frustrating for us and the patient. After working here for almost 25 years it does not surprise me anymore what we see or hear. Connie Waltz RN BSN The M. Lombard Hyperbaric Oxygenation Medical Center Inc.
