I sooooo know how you feel. I am just going for 3 weeks and the thought of

leaving my family is nearly devastating! We will be there together for a few

overlapping days. You will be just finishing up and I would love to get to

talk to you a little when we get there to get your opinions if you don't

mind.

Dear :

I don't know if this is what was discussed the other day (what you referred to)

or not, but here are my thoughts about prevention vs. treatment.

I think every hospital should have a hyperbaric chamber in the ER and/or

delivery room. An example would be a baby is born and there is a concern that

the baby suffered some lack of oxygen at birth for any number of reasons - that

baby should be placed into the chamber. In Mexico, they have shown that CP can

be literally avoided by placing a newborn in the chamber for one treatment for

one hour and it literally reverses a lifetime of challenges.

The other scenario would be - if a near drowning came into the ER - for them to

get that child/patient into the chamber as soon as possible to get oxygen back

into the tissues to prevent damage.

One scenario that Dr. Neubauer talks about is getting a stroke victim into the

chamber as soon as possible after the actual stroke. He said that they are

conducting studies worldwide on this and are getting very good results. My mom

had a very severe stroke and we were outside the US when it happened. We got

her life-flighted home to Texas and on her 12th day post stroke, she was

evaluated and cleared for HBO. Because of her stroke she had lost all her

vision, all the feeling on the right side of her body and she could not walk,

feed herself, her voice was even a different tone. She had no balance because

she could not feel the right side of her body. Her shortterm memory was

completely gone as well. She did 30 treatments. We noticed within 2-3

treatments that her was regaining balance. She then started regaining feeling in

her body. Her vision returned. Her memory returned. By her 20th treatment -

she was driving herself to the clinic!!! She amazed everyone around her -

especially her primary care physician. He said he had NEVER seen anyone recover

from such a severe stroke, and so quickly. She is a walking, talking example of

what can happen if you get into that chamber ASAP following a stroke.

These cases are prevention - treat before there is a problem. Don't hold off on

HBO until you are dealing with all kinds of neurological symptoms. Instead of

giving HBO as a preventative measure - to prevent further damage and loss of

brain tissue - just the opposite is done.

Treatment is given to parents and families who have had to search out for this

as a treatment option because their child or loved one has CP or had a stroke or

brain injury. Now we are dealing with brain injury that may have been mostly

eliminated or greatly reduced if only we could have had HBO originally. My son

has done very well with HBO and if we had not discovered this treatment, who

knows where my mom would be right now, status post stroke.

In my opinion, withholding oxygen (in this case HBO) from any patient that has

had a lack of oxygen in any situation should be criminal.

Good luck with your interview tomorrow and please keep us posted on how it goes.

Sincerely, Tammy

What a conicidence. We are taking my son Connor to Ability Camp for

the Feb 10- March 14 session. He will be doing Conductive Therapy and

HBOT combined during that time. I am hoping to see lots of

progress.

There is someone else on this list that has a child at Ability Camp

as we speak, they were doing the Jan session. I think it is Ed? I

know he contacted me and told me it would be there first time going

there too. (I didn't keep a hard copy of the letter we emailed

eahother... even though I thought I had)

My son suffers from a Tramatic Brain Injury caused by an accident on

July 7th 2002.

I know the camp does a lot of CP children.... but Brain Injury is

Brain Injury... regardless of how it is received.

I am very excited/nervous and nervous about leaving my family for 5

weeks, but am very anxious to see the progrss that is made during our

trip!

Dear ,

As for me, the impact that HBOT has had on our family I can hardly begin to

explain, See the testimonials on the website,

http://www.hbot4u.com/testimonials.html

As for my three daughters, abnormal brain Spect scans, Non verbal, auto

immune disorders, Sz and the list goes on, now my beautiful daughters are

able to lead normal life's.

As for the patients we treat, I am always amazed at the results, Some are

faster than others, and still others leave walking!!

Many of our patients use HBOT for prevention, some to keep their minds

mentally alert and retain memory, others maintain wellness after an illness

or back injury, Dr Underwood and I find that combine with Vitamin I.V. drips

which include B-12, minerals and trace minerals is a excellent combination.

As for me, I started as a patient who had Lupus, I have tested neg since

1993 and recently a bone density test revealed a bone age of 27years. (

Which does not correspond to the rest of the age related females in my

family)

Dr Underwood himself uses HBOT for the anti aging affects.

If I could treat one disorder I would be torn between near drown children

and RSD.

However, If I had one request in life, just one, I would ask that the ER

room and delivery rooms have Chambers for the new borns and the children who

go to the ER for the many drownings, and Closed head Injury.

I hope you succeed in helping families explore the many uses of HBOT! what a

wonderful opportunity!

Best Wishes,

CHT

Dear , I forgot to include this very important part, Most Medical

Doctors and studies now are revealing that Inflammation is the bottom line

of diseases or disorders, Nothing that we have found will dramatically

reduce Inflammation like Hyperbarics, the key to health I feel is reduce

inflammation, Restore circulation!

Rapid Recovery Hyperbarics

, that would be me. My wife and son are there for the first time.

Yesterday was the half way point. My wife called me with such enthusiasm

and excitement. Our son, who is very severely challenged due to birth

injury, was just loving life and really rising up to the challenges that

the conductive education offers. Even for a child in as hopeless a

situation as he was in, they wanted to put him away into a hospice right

out of the NICU, can begin to recover brain functioning slowly one small

step at a time. The conductive education is tough, the group living is a

challenge, like boot camp, but the people there are wonderful according to

my wife and most of all it seems to be working which makes it worthwhile

for sure.

Agreed, If they put my son into a chamber just after his brain injury

during birth, I'm sure he would be much better off than he is today.

He is beginning to respond to external stimuli, sights, sounds, physical

manipulation, people, etc. by showing voluntary movement and bringing his muscle

groups into play. He is smiling and showing increased awareness of his

surroundings. is making attempts at standing and interacting with the

people around him. All good stuff...

Greetings ,

My thought on this is that you need to present the cost effectiveness

of HBOT. Conventional therapies have been studied and for most they

don't work no matter what benefits we are seeing in the news these

days. The reduction in cost/care will drastically reduce per patient

and injury/disease/sickness. We have to drive this message home!

Insurance Co. need to hear this message from us loud and clear. As a

mother of 4 I have maybe one hour per day to devote to the HBOT

cause, besides my daughters therapies. So my presentation is going

to be slow in coming, but once it does, it will be dramatic. There

are already figures in the archives of this list with backup study

references about how much money it takes to pay for our loved ones

per year and per lifetime. The bottom line is what we are all

concerned about. I hate to say it but it is so true.
